We have all seen the 993 clone cars using an early car or a middie..

But when is it not considered a sheeper anymore? When the drivetrain can back it up?

I might have a lead on a G50 car that is a 993 gt clone, and I actually like it a lot

You should learn some Motorsports history. Well into the 90s, pro-racers were still running updated 993 bodies on G body cars. Kevin Buckler and TRG even ran one at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. A body kit does not automatically make a car a sheeper.

With everything I have going on, I am definitely lacking Motorsports history knowledge!

That is good to know.. thank you! Now I just need to find a way to get this car..

How's this fit with that 993 look. An 87 930 built very early 2000s by Billett Design, a sheeper? Great one to drive just about anywhere for an old dude like me.

Don't know, maybe as in the old Porsche adage ( "beauty follows function" ), I bought it this way however it had lots of advertising decals when I got it as it was on a European show circuit after it was built promoting the components of the built. The body design may also be functional as it is geared to do well over 200 MPH ( build info says geared for 225 @ 7000 ) and very similar to a vintage Porsche originally built by Fabcar that runs @ Road America. The fastest air cooled and still faster than most current water cooled ones, even thou decades older. Google 993 fabcar vs 997 turbo@ road America and be amazed at how it blows the later Porsche away on the straights. Actually, as I recall the 0 to 60 garage Porsche was originally built and entered with a earlier chassis not from a 993 chassis although like mine it bares a resemblance to the later model as mine does.

Check this very similar track version out that is raced by 0 to 60 garage. Google 993 fabcar vs 997 turbo @ Road America. The 997 is pro driven and a factory built (and further modded beyond ) race version car and the elderly 993 is driven by the amateur driver, owner and caretaker. Always a joy to watch it race destroying most everything on track over the decades. enjoy. I remember decades ago listening to others complain that it was too scary fast to compete with. I feel very good about mine looking and with similar HP, both built long ago.

Yep, that car is awesome, and its gearbox is filled with my bits. I’ve got the gearchart and ratios around here somewhere.
