Value of project 2.2E Targa

I am looking for a 2.2E Targa. I came across this one:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/525696-fs-1971-911e-targa-rough.html

Apparantly the seller and I are waaaaaay off. Just curious what others think it may be worth.

W/o looking at the asking I thought $6k. I don't think he is that far off. with that being said it will cost a pretty penny to get it up to speed.

Unfortunately, the guy is probably right. It is worth more in parts than he is asking.

I see your tags.
Just two years ago I told a friend to not even consider buying a local '70. It was a typical rusty 2.2T, no good for full restoration. Then, at $10K you couldn't sell the parts and break even and it would take a good hobbyist to come up with a decent driver. But now, everything between '70 and '73 that can be made streetable is hot.
The price is high because it's in a Porsche shop and it's an "E". The parts are worth maybe $4-$5K. Who owns it, the shop or a customer?

I have been wanting an E targa for a looooong time. The seller and I were a couple of grand off. But I figured, what is a couple of grand for a car that will cost over $30k to restore? Not that much in the whole scheme of things.

Plus I have always wanted a 2.2E targa. I found a 71E coupe. Nope, still wanted the targa. Found a 70T targa. Nope, still wanted the E targa. So with this E targa, I can get rid of the T Targa and E coupe.

The way things are going, a rustbucket like that will be twice the price in a few years...

Can't see the struts in those photos of the front subframe. Looks like standard torsion bar adjusters to me.

Do the Vice Grip pliers go with the car?

Yes, need to show the struts.

I just picked up a 2.2E MFI motor.

So what do you guys think now?
I bought the car and have been sitting on it, waiting to restore it, but life got in the way.
Well, life and about a dozen other cars!

Had her for sale a few months ago but changed my mind.
Turned down $18k.
Should I have taken the money and ran?

Matching numbers per coa.
Have most of the missing parts in pretty good condition.
Fenders, interior, glass, trim, etc...

Thinking about selling her again.

Wow! That makes a guy think about selling but then I may never be able to afford another one.

Oh wow. 35k is strong money. Would be happy with $25k. Might loosely assemble and put on eBay.
