Its a pile. Another $150-200k on a resto at a shop that knows what they are doing and he should have a nice car. I don't get.

Multi-millionaires are running out of ways to out-spend and stand-out from their kinfolk, no doubt. Plus, it gives the new owner something to strike up conversation with at this weekend's tea & crumpet gathering.
These types live in the clouds - maybe that's why NASA is exploring outer-space: to find a suitable planet for them to live on.
If I had that kind of money to spend, I feel I'm rational, ethical, and moral enough to do something like randomly hand out $100 bills to complete strangers who appeared to need it until I'd handed out $143,000 and then go buy the rusted basket case 356. Period.
Often, I wonder how most millionaires were intelligent enough to become millionaires in the first place. But after a minute or two wondering, I quit wondering because there's more important things to do with my scarce free time.

While it is true that it can be restored, that is a lot of money for an old rust bucket that when done will still go 0-60 in 16 seconds. Makes me glad that I'm not rich. I sold my 356B 15 years ago because it was a very pretty dog.

55 Speedster

This one looks like a turd too.....look at those door gaps.....you`ll spend a ton on ANOTHER restoration! I`m not comparing it to the rustbucket, but for this kind of money, I`d stay away.
