1976 3ltr Value (930.02)

Debating swapping my current 3.0 (930.02) engine for a 3.6. I know these engines are a bit rare here in the US; that said, what are some thoughts on the price?

- Fully rebuilt; new pistons, cams, valve job (the works). Was completed a bit over a year ago and only has 2 DE weekends.
- PMO's
- Twin Plugged with crank-fire
- Lightweight flywheel and pressure plate

Engine was set up for HSR group 5 but I see more DE's and TT in the future than purely historic venues.

Thanks for any input.

930.02 3ltr

A few have PM'd me wanting to buy but I'm really looking for what a realistic price to sell would be. Bottom line is if I can sell this engine/trans for the same price of getting an equally built 3.6; I will seriously advertise it. It's rare and built to run HSR Grp 5 or DE's.

Thanks again for any info.

I read on Impact Bumpers which has an Early Carrera forum that a guy was looking for a 930/02 engine and places in Europe were quoting him $15,000-20,000 for a complete running engine.

You may want to advertise and post the engine serial number as someone may be looking to reunite their car with the original motor. These cars are starting to gain traction in the Market due to their rarity.

Also, selling off the injection etc and selling the long block or short block could be an option to attracting someone who wants to rebuild back to stock with CIS injection.

Will go over and take a look at that forum. The serial# is 6660018 so seems to be one of the first to roll out of the factory.

In that era the serial numbers 1 to 20 were not normally used for production engines so 6660018 could be some kind of pre-production one.

Was used as a track car from the earliest records I have (70s). Could be connected to that.
