Oh No! - Are we all going to be forced to buy Turbo's from now on?

I find 991s unappealing regardless of which engine they mount, so I don't really care. Besides I'm clearly not averse to turbos

Yep... Next year everything but the GT series car go turbo, small sixes for Carreras and fours in the Cayman Boxster lines.

Thanks - now I remember reading that. I thought this seller was either out of it, or trying to confuse unaware buyers. In any case, I think there might just be too many NA 996's, 997's and 991's out there for him to be playing the "last chance" card just yet.

Yep. Now if is was a Boxster Spyder or Cayman GT4 he would get more traction. The 981 owners are up in arms over this.

So in Canada you will have to pay $90k for a four cylinder Cayman! That will be a tough sell although we all got over paying more for a Boxster coupe

Same here. Whether any new Porsche comes with a turbo or four cylinders or six cylinders, Porsche no longer makes any cars I care to own.

Gee I don't know about that. I think I'd welcome a GT4 into my garage anytime.

Me too, or the new Spyder with the same 3.8 engine. Though I do prefer the look of the 987.

Would you take a GT4 over a 997 GT3 though?

I would. In fact I would trade straight across for my 2005 997 SuperCup to get into a GT4.

IMHO- We are about to enter if we haven't already, a period where the classic cars are just that, and the new ones lack any collectability. Look at Aston Martins for example. older, more mechanical and simpler cars, albeit with our any really performance compared to today's cars and a butt load of more maintenance considerations, are worth many times more than the newer, nicer counterparts.
ie, DB4 vs DB7 or DB9. The new p cars don't appeal to me in the same way. Surely they are nice cars, and I'd love to have one, but they lack the charm of manual steering, having to find non ethanol gas, and a relatively inefficient engine. But the sound, the feeling of driving, and the "cool " factor cannot be replicated even by the 964 in my opinion. To me the last of the cool cars died in the 89 model 911.

Lets see, the new Porsche cars will be faster and better in almost every way! I would take a four banger Cayman!!!! But my favorite is the new Targa. Saw one at the dealer. I would take a turbo version! Yes my 85 is hard to park sometimes and is not super quick and smells like gas, oil and leather inside. That is a cool factor. But I would rather have a Cayman ! Starting in 09 of course!
