Magnus Walker 914

Looks like Magnus just bought 2 914's.
He just posted a couple photos on Facebook.
Time to hit the bid and sell or buy one?

I love Magnus' stuff. And I think it's awesome he's branching out to other cars like the 914 (he's looking for a 928 too). The funny thing is, and I'm sure it's already been discussed, but he would have been slammed (maybe he was, I never bother to look) 3-4 years ago for what he does to cars, now everyone is tripping over themselves to praise him, meet him, etc... I also love the seeming influence he has on the market.
I had an 83SC a few years back and did some "magnus" stuff to it and struggled to get $15500 for it. Couldnt touch that car now for less than $30K. But back then I was chastized (by some) for improving it with lighter seats, duck tail, wheels, exhaust, etc... all things that made the car better, lighter, faster, and handle better. I'll never understand this market and the things that influence it.
That said, cheers to Magnus and his success. I hope he inspires more people to step outside the lines and do what they want to their car, and inspire others to appreciate it like they have with Magnus' work.
I for one am in the process of freshing up a 68 912 "to my liking". In searching parts I actually came across a louvered deck lid from Aase, but sadly it's over $2k so it's aint happening.
Always loved the 914, had one years ago, super fun. I'd of bought another by now but I need back seats for kiddies.

Just saw a local WTB ad for a 914! That is a first.

Running into any parked trucks in these would not be a pretty sight.

He's had the 914s for a bit and already has several front engine water pumpers. He starts posting them when he's ready to market them. Many of his WIP pictures of his cars are taking long before we ever see them. Like those Emory louvers? Done a couple weeks before the string of daily progress updates of them.

The 964 was the most in real time one yet that I know of. The death of hiw wife actually delayed the finishing of it and it missed SEMA.

I'm not sure how far along the 914 are yet but I saw pictures about 6 months ago IIRC.

I do hope he builds a really hot type IV. Like a Raby Massive. Or maybe the world's first POLO 914?

Its interesting to see how some find interest in a model just because Walker puts flares on it and paint stripes down the side.

Teeners are wonderful handling cars. Least we not forget the 911 front suspension and the lightness and strength of the body. They rot from the inside out sadly

I know the red one quite well, as I've fixed a few issues on it over the years. It used to belong to a good friend of mine. I was surprised when I heard it was headed to the other coast to MW.

The shop in Ontario Canada where I did my tag team build of my 911 has survived almost exclusively on 914s for many many years

Some cool projects have come out of there and business is heating up for top level cars.
