Nice 1974 911

What do you all think? Pretty solid car, maybe do a BO of $25k?

Greens not my color and the rims would have to go, but not bad over all....

That is a beautiful 911 with crappy wheels. Even has ssi's. I wonder if the engine has ever been resealed and checked for broken head studs? $3,500 may have done it. It does have some oil leaking, but don't they all. I say at least take a closer look.

Some nits if originality is your thing.

Wrong wheels, rear bumperettes, shift knob and mirrors, missing rear 911 emblem. Engine grille possibly from earlier car or all the black anodizing has been stripped off. Center cubby console from later car. Different antenna.

All easily corrected and a cool color. Seems some rust repair around battery tray has been done but bottom of car looks clean and straight.

Also has optional rear anti-roll bar.

Sump plate incorrectly positioned. Drain plug should be in line with driver. Weird cavitation/oil pressure issues result from plug being too close to oil pick-up tube.

The major oil leak is likely due to what looks like aftermarket oil return tubes.

Am I the only one who always Google's VIN's?

If this earlier ad is correct, (there's a phone number for the curious) - then the current seller's story is totally bent.

VIN: 9114101230 - Porsche : 911 sunroof coupe 1974 porsche 911 sunroof coupe

That paint is nicer than new. I suspect it is a combination of a repaint AND computers. It just doesn't look right at all.

16k miles? That's a good one. Will likely hoodwink someone though.

Not to mention the '85+ seats and 1977 engine...

Yes; not a negative for many, but far from original.

"Mint condition" and "famous Porsche start up puff" - Bull****! (pardon my French)

That car looks like (is) a piece of crap (pardon my French again).

The moron who painted the car (does not look like a Porsche green to me) even painted the rear deck lid locking mechanism - now it is weird green too. They really had great eye for detail!

I petty the fool who buys this!

Nice 1974 911

Ha ha ha I loooove This forum.... When I Saw the ad I thought.... Looks nice, but somethings wrong with the wheels and the engine lid grille.... But when I read all the comments about flaws , things that are "not original " and then compare it to the text and my own quick look at the car...I suddenly feel like I must have Worn scratced glasses for not seeing all the obvious flaws.
Thanks again for another lession in detecting flaws that I didn't see at first... Keep up the good work Pelicanoz...

The apparent mileage misrepresentation has been reported to eBay - FWIW

I would pay $20k.

As to not buying a 1974, most thermal reactors, poor cooling fans, non-hydraulic tensioner so and even crappy head stud have been removed or replaced. I have a 74 and it is a rockstar!
