Engine pricing - second engine to build up
I have come across a couple engines (no Injection or exhaust) for sale. Aside from the before mentioned they look to be complete. Was thinking of grabbing one to do a custom build and keep the original motor stock.
There is a 69 E, 70 T and a 71 E (70 and 71 need rebuilding) Would any be preferable over the others? Would it be better to go with a newer 2.7? Also wondering what some opinions are on a resonable price to pay on the motors mentioned above. Thanks! |

The E motors are a bit more powerful and have better mid range power. Many people upgrade to E cams for driveability.
69 motor is a 2.0 liter while the other are 2.2's. minimal power difference especially if you are rebuilding it anyway. 2.7's are OK but you have to watch for broken studs and if you rebuild it go ahead and plan to time cert every stud in the case which is a pain in the ass. I'd go with the 69 motor. If you don't buy them send over the details so someone else can! Good luck $.02 John
