Hi,the number 6 is in the right place.There are no more.In 1972 I sold one of the last 4-Cam Speedsters built for $3,000.Sold that for a down payment for a house and a shop that made headstones for the cemetary across the street in Califon,N.J.The 4-cam had 52,000 kms.

There is no doubt when it comes to special cars.... values escalate...... this is not a 4cam speedster.....

Currently you can buy an excellent condition, original, numbers matching 74 through 76 2.7 MFI Carrera for $275,000 to $300,000. This car given basic math and any restoration experience will be at least $275,000. What would you have?

It's a hopeful price for sure. They are special cars. The one that sold at Amelia in 2014 for $236K was gorgeous. Probably worth $350K now.

With a non-original motor and the flares sawed off like that (really, that's a top thing that's special on these cars - rear flares), I don't know if it'd be worth it. It would have myriad stories and lots and lots of body work, and in the end you wouldn't have the original motor. And since these are collector cars, a collector who is going to pay $175K for that heap knows it's better to pay another $175K for a really nice car and be done with it.

That car has $100K worth of body work on it to bring it even close to the ones that have sold in the $300s.

I'd rather buy an original one for 300k. At least 100k to make this right plus hundreds of hours or free labor. When its done it still won't be original.

I would guess 75k is closer to its value and that's being generous.

agreed.....

the motor alone is probably worth $35,000 and needs a professional rebuild ($30,000) based upon photos..... There was a rebuilt motor for sale for what seemed like forever on EarlyS, I believe they wanted or got $50,000+.

Chassis.... hard to believe the VIN is worth more than $15,000 even stretching to $25,000....

Well the buyer will establish what this is worth......
