I'm glad folks like it, it isn't perfect, but i feel like I've tried to be honest about the condition and what it needs. Maybe I'm underestimating the value and underpricing it some, time will tell I guess. The market for higher mileage cars is funny for 930s with all the low mile garage queens out there. I wish I liked the driving dynamics of a stock 930 a bit more, but between the trans, old style turbo, and off-boost performance it just isn't right for me. I would love to hang on to it, as it sits though, for the type of driving I do, I don't find it all that rewarding to drive compared to a G50 Carrera or a 964; time to move on to something that I will actually really enjoy driving.

E: is the Google+ link to the extra pics working for folks?

yes, the google link works.
Interesting about your comments on driving this vs a G50 because I have a G50 and wonder how different a 930 would be.....Good luck with sale. Great car just a little scary out there being a buyer or seller.

It is the combination of being a 4 spd with really tall gearing, combined with the old style turbo lag and low factory compression. If you are getting on it or on the track, it is a ton of fun, around town where I do most of my driving though, it is not so fun for me. These things can be fixed of course, but the car is pretty original and the market seems to value that a lot these days.

Just accepted an offer for pretty close to asking price. Looking like I might have been a bit under market I guess.

To more or less echo what the OP has already said, the 4-speed does not feel "the best" for around the town driving in stock trim, but change the turbocharger to one that spools earlier, add some power & torque via exhaust and fueling mods (better intercooler, adjustable WUR, free flowing muffler, etc), and the 4-speed becomes a joy to drive slow or fast.

It's a very good price. Thing to think about is this is a $100,000 car in 5 years or less. I can't think of many if any Impact bumper cars with that much appreciation potential. Yes 4 speed turbos drive different. That's what makes them so unique. Can't think of any sports car that had a similar driving experience.

Cars as an investment are iffy sometimes, but I don't think you are wrong about the numbers in this case. Ultimately for myself, I want a car that I really enjoy driving, rather than one that is a good investment and looks awesome sitting in the garage. By selling now, am I leaving money on the table from a future investment standpoint? Almost certainly. Will I get a lot more enjoyment and personal value from having a less investment-worthy car that I get out and drive a ton, because it is a car more than an investment to me? Definitely.

The one that I really regret not buying from an investment and a driving standpoint was the $45k 964 RS America that I looked at 3.5 years ago.

If timing was right, I would let a couple of my 911s go and grab that 930, hell, I have the correct wheels on my 914-6 GT clone as rollers.

^^^ As quickly as it sold one would suspect it was at or very close to asking.
