Loaded fine on me iPhone, but is also torques on me tablet.

My wife has always wanted a gulf blue Vantage but when I took her out to look at this and said it could be equipped with a kid seat she was sold. Unfortunately I was told the Boxsyer couldn't be traded for it.

You just need to find the right detailer and black can look great.

happy for you that you found your car, and you did your due diligence finding it. I have no crystal ball, but imo I doubt values will go down much if any and chances of getting hurt are slim to none. Even if everything takes a crap and completely tanks, as long as people dont panic and start selling their cars all well be good and if it gets that bad were all going to be in a world of shet anyway. Congrats on purchase !

Now go drive the p!ss out of it. Thats what they like. Dont baby it, shift at 4500 rpms and have fun

You mean shift at 6300 rpms. All the fun is after 4500...

Holy crap, did the shipper munch the tailpipe like that?

It looks brilliant after the detailing.

Then a cloud passed over and it spotted like a leopard.

Cleaning a black car is difficult, but not impossible. Keeping it clean, on the other hand....:)

I think the point is never shift below 4500, even during warm up.

I hear you. I don't drive it daily and it is garaged so it's maintained its finish pretty well, but I'm sure it'll be more challenging to look after than a lighter color.

Matt,

The Intercity driver in the photo I posted had a soft towel that he draped over the door when he was in the car. The photo was at pickup at Peter Z's and I think it was really hot in Bakersfield. Peter sent me a note after pickup along with photos and said he was impressed. Same driver all the way across the country - no issues with car when he delivered it about three blocks from my house (closest wide street for him to park his rig on).

CONGRATS!

How about some grey / matte silver Carrera script along with some RSR finish fuchs, like the ones on this beauty...

...that'd be some SWEET contrast for you.

You noticed that too huh? No, in one of the pictures the owner sent me before I bought it you can see that "bite" taken out of it. It's not a great photo but the missing part looks very precisely removed. I wonder if some PO clipped it in order to clear a low driveway or something. I'll take a closer look when the car arrives.

Yeah, I think I really want to do the Carrera script. Not that it would dissuade me, but was that actually an option from these years? I feel like I see it more commonly on the 70s cars.

Sam

You missed the post where I said I was teasing him?

Some of you guys are too damn serious. Of course it isn't some scratchy blanket like you find in the back of a Uhaul rental. It's a microfiber towel intended for just this purpose. Kind of like the fender covers mechanics have to make sure they don't scratch your paint when they lean over into you engine bay. These people are professionals transporting expense cars. I would hope they aren't doing stupid sh....

Ronnie's.930 03-16-2016 03:47 PM

Matt, do you think that your Botox-er's paint would be scratched if Eric rubbed his ****z all over it?!?!?! After all, thast wut guys (word used figuratively here) who own those machines are in to, right???

brianvb 03-16-2016 05:02 PM

Isn't a Boxer a dog ????

Ronnie's.930 03-16-2016 10:01 PM

I thought they were a type of undergarment . . .

Matt Monson 03-17-2016 08:21 AM

All my cars have boxer engines and I only wear boxer drawers.

I had you pegged for a "going commando" type, Matt!

Speaking of which, I heard that Christian is a banana hammock dude. Dunno, maybe that applies to all 912 owners?!?! MattR, confirm or deny???

Sorry for interrupting the quasi-homosexual banter with an automotive related comment but...

Mine was like that when I bought my car also, the "experts" said that happens when one of these if flat-bedded or otherwise transported. Not sure how true that is or if it can happen on a steep driveway. I lived with it until I had the muffler off the car replacing the cat. Then I was able to prop up the muffler, stick a wood "V" block under and hammer it back down using a large diameter punch. It took a lot more force than I would have imagined, don't think a tailpipe expander could do it even if you could get it in there.

p.s. nice car, congrats!
