A happy SC buyer

I bought this sweet 79 SC with 120k miles today . It runs perfect, has headers, recaro seat, sparco wheel. Full doc's, 2 owners, original paint and wheels. I feel lucky to own this car today. It's not for sale. I'm just sharing my good fortune.
I've asked many strangers and acquaintances , many times, "if they have an old Porsche for sale ?". After many laughs and many No's, this time the guy said YES ! . And so now I'll add this beauty to my small collection.
Although it's not for sale. Can I value it at 40,000 U.S. $.
heres a photo

Are you asking if the value is $40k?
With 120k miles, I'd say you are probably $10k too high.

I like the color matched Fuchs. $40 is too high I would say for a real world value. The sparco wheel and recaro seats are going to hurt the value. Realistically its Prob worth $26,000-$30,000. Nice score though- nice to have records on a new purchase. Rare to see a SC without fog lights.

Is that cashmere beige, and is that the original color? If so, at least 10% over a red black or white or silver car other things being equal.

You can value it at $40K for Insurance coverage (if that is what you are asking).

Nice looking car! Color has really grown on me as it is truly unique.

Congrats and welcome.

Nice buy Brian. I"m not sure about $40, but $35 is in the realm. It's a unique color and pretty rare color. There's been a few threads about it recently. Maybe it's because Seinfeld is selling his 930 in the same color. Regardless, it looks nice. Enjoy it.

The value will go up exponentially once the Baja ride height comes down!

On second thought, the car is already tan, sooooooooooooooooooo - the possibilities!!!

Maybe I'll lower it so Ronnie will approve. It'll look better.

Look on the bright side, Brian; your approval ranking is far superior to Matt M.'s regardless of the troubling "911 on stilts" situation you've got going on. I mean, his took a turn for the better when I learned he parted ways with his 912 (only a slight turn, mind you, since no mention of turbo powa' in his future), butt then the guy goes and buys a Boxster ?!?!?! Holy shart, talk about an approval rating face plant right thar!!!

I already ripped off the 930 7&8s and put rally 6x15s on all four corners. 195/60r/15. Same ride height. value added for originality. 10/73 pro date Fuchs.

Nice car, very cool color and love the bright trim. 78, 79 are the best SC years imo. have the bigger intake ports and no Lambda .
