Just Moved To Vermont

Hello Pelicans,

I've just moved to South Burlington VT & was hoping to meet up with other Pelicans or at the very least get some advise on roads to drive or not drive, food, beer, places to see, etc, etc.

I don't have my 911 up here as yet but plan on shipping her up as soon as all the salt is off the roads.

Already tried Leunigs, El Gato, Shalamar & La Boca Wood Fired Pizza & all were very nice !

Welcome to Vermont!! Zero Gravity Beer located at American Flat Bread in Burlington. Great Beer!! Every Vermont road has it challenges, some worse that others. Be careful if your car is lowered. I put skid plates on some of my cars. The drivers are another story!!

Not to hijack the thread but I was planning on a road trip around vermont for next memorial day weekend, figuring there'd be some nice mountain roads to drive around.
Skid plates weren't part of the plan. Should I choose another destination?

No by then the FROST HEAVES are gone!! There are many roads that challenge the best of drivers in Vermont. VT Highway 108, 17, 109, 302 and 100 is awesome if no one is around, just to name a few. Go to Stowe good unique restaurants, cool settings and the roads in that area will get your adrenalin pumping. I'll take you for a ride, but I'm an ALFA guy!! BUT you'll have fun!!
If so maybe I'll take out me race car weather permitting!! Try to keep up???

Believe it or not I'm a huge Alfa fan & have owned some wicked cars back in the UK & also had one at Watkins when we moved to the US in 06. I'm good friends with the Banks family (Alfaholics) & have recently been looking to get myself another 66-73 GT/GTV.

I'm definitely up for some driving but as mentioned I won't have my 911 up here until next month some time. I do have my 99 Z3 M Coupe up here & she's quite a hoot to drive !

Love those roads and I go there a few times a year to burn gas.

Our group is going to Parade in June we can plan something fun while there.

Da COPS!! Yup looking for a 2K donation to support their JUNK!! I get stopped at least 4 time a year!! No Tickets in the last 20 years. just harassment!!

Here's one of my STOPS!! Tuning me Race car, took the muffler off!! Just a strait pipe. Last year!

COP: Do you know why I STOPPED You?
ME : NO "DH" Officer
COP: Well your muffler's BAD!
ME : Owe no it's in great shape, just open the Hatch Back and you can see it!! It in the car!!
Of course he opened the Hatch Back and saw the Muffler and didn't know what to do???
COP: Well the next time I see this car it better have the muffler in Place!!
ME Thank you Officer "DH" Go catch a real crook! I didn't say that! It was what I was thinking! Burlington????

When I want to go for a ride I usually leave the house around 5:30/6:00AM. Like waking up the neighbors and the cops are no where to be found. Off duty or at Coffee Shop!

Moved here 34 years ago and in the 80's I went as fast as the car could go!!



Me Muffler replacement! Found it in the car and when I put it on WOW!! HP



10 minutes replace this with the above WOW!! Got in trouble driving this BEAST at the ALFA Convention last year!! Let's hook up and do a drive. ALFA drivers are manjinas. That's why I pipe in here!!

Like Felipe said and as you can see from the links our group have been up there several times and will be back up there for Parade. Some great driving roads and just recently was discussing with crew the possibility of putting together another fun run.

Thanks to all that have replied thus far, excited about tearing up the tarmac here in VT.

Are there noise restrictions for cars in VT ? My 911 has a custom exhaust & is VERY loud but a beautiful timber nonetheless & I just can't understand how somebody wouldn't like the tone ?

I highly doubt the police in VT will be any worse than the filth in Florida but I'm sure I'll unfortunately find out in due course.

Regardless, looking forward to the meeting up with all car obsessed individuals in this beautiful state !

Recently visited VT. Checked out Magic Hat, Fiddlehead, the Tap Room, Burlington Beer Co, and Prohibition Pig. Pro Pig was great. They had some good beers and Heady Topper when I was there!!!
