'74 Euro Carrera. Flip potential?

buddy has one. i have an inside track re: purchasing the car.
unrestored. less than 60000 mi. perfect original paint, killer colour combo, mfi. true factory ducktail, no sunroof (of course) early number car '73 RS flares, etc. etc.
a big-buck car. no?
my shipper connection can land it in Vancouver - 2k extra.

thoughts, anyone? re: market value/future appreciation? i wanna support my ugly-duckling 964 habit.
timeframe: 3 years.

Sounds like you can't loose. Low production number of cars, great color, MFI. The only problem would be avoiding the temptation to start driving it.
Start looking at auction results.
The MFI Carrera's are bringing significant money

Don't true buddies help each other and wouldn't one tell the other the true worth of something he might be thinking of selling, instead of buying it under value and flipping it for a cheap profit .......

If the price was right I'd have a real hard time flipping one of those. That engine is just too special and getting into one righteous just isn't happening anymore.

Otherwise I would go in on the deal with the buddy. I'd tell him my thoughts on it, what I think I can get, including whatever $$$ need to go in for service and reconditioning before the sale. Then I'd work a deal to split the profits. That's what buddies do in my world.

Byron... you, my friend, are one of a kind.......

I have witnessed more blood baths over cars, especially Porsches, where the "best guy/friend" in the world is transformed into a bile crook over night......

People have become soo greedy lately.....

74-75 Euro with a 2.7MFI?
Drive it and you won't sell it...a good friend will tell you what you have or convince you to buy one and keep it...

I've seen them advertised for as high as $350k to as low as $199k. The one for $199k looked to be a really nicely restored ice green metallic one that was for sale on the Samba a few months back. Not sure if it ever sold, but seemed like a good value at the time given what others are asking.

Then again these are asking prices. Who knows what the actually selling prices were.

Pics and price will help determine the flip potential of the car in question.

Funny. Just had a conversation this morning with a friend who brought a buddy into the "Porsche world" and the buddy subsequently decided that all 911s are $100K cars and that (my friend) had ripped him off on prior deals. Now these pals are no longer speaking.

I was just kidding about some multiple personalities in different forum areas. I'm not selling anymore. I hate this environment. I'm too tired to play sales games.

Keep on driving brother.

fwiw, i am interested in opinions regarding return on investment. over three years. buy in approx. 200 US. there is no way that i am going to get a "you stole that car from your buddy" deal on the car.
i cannot overemphasize, the car is essentially flawless. and original.
i sorta figure that some filthy-rich person would pay a totally ridiculous amount of money for the car. opinions?
