Oof. Lots of cosmetic "work" done to the car, none of it done right.
Bought in '15.. hope the seller has reserve set right and somebody gets into this driver - or pulls it apart again and does a good job.

Looks like another decent driver car for someone who wants a 930 that looks sharp, even at the expense of originality and collectible purity.

Hopefully the guy isn't thinking he'll flip a profit on this 2015 purchase...

1976 Turbo on BAT

I'm normally one to only want cars exactly as they left the factory.

This is a very very nice car only needing maybe $15,000 to $20,000 to put right but IT IS ALL THERE.

The paint on this car is gorgeous.

On these cars I would much rather have a high quality repaint than tired single stage paint.

Anything under around a $100,000 is a STEAL on this car.

These cars will be $200,000 in no time. Yes the market may be taking a breather for now but not long.

If a cinder block 1200 sqft house in a bad neighborhood in Los Angeles can be worth 1.2 million.

A Ferrari F40 1 of 1000 can be worth $800,000

Then a 3.0 turbo 1 of 2700 is easily worth $300,000.

Sorry just putting what will soon in the future be fact in prospective today.

Let us reflect on the many previous sales for 3.0 turbos that have reached $200,000

Also there have been a few Stuttgart air in the tires 79 930s that have reached $300,000 +.

Agreed. Lipstick on a Pig. If that car hits $100k I would be surprised.

I would value this car -30% compared to a rough 930 with 964 body-parts.

-30% is for the lipstick (what else is covered up?)

1976 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera | Bring a Trailer

Surprised BAT agreed on a reserve higher than $85k for this example.

Dude... Seriously a 3.0 turbo driver for $85,000 or less?

It takes $100,000 to even get close.

I guess you didn't read my post. I said I'm surprised BAT agreed on a reserve higher than $85k. They beat you up pretty hard when it comes to reserves.

Ok well I'd say BaT is not the place for $100,000 plus auctions when your talking Gen X supercars.

At some point you have to ask yourself what are you gonna buy for $85,000... Maybe a 308?? Heck NO that was 2 years ago now those cars are $120,000+..

I don't think this car was as bad as it was trash talked to be and that does affect bids.

Hmmm...maybe something something about the time of year too?

Also, the clear choice of what to do with $85k is a minty loaded 997.1TT.
