Same car, 2nd is a year old ad. Could just be time to dump it with declining prices.

^^^prices may be declining but I highly doubt prices will come down to what they were back in 2010. One can hope but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Rey, maybe when the non-enthusiasts who bought these things at ridiculously high prices (so they could tell their friends that they added another garage queen to their stables) get bored with the 930 hype train, we'll see a return to more realistic pricing as they dump them in mass?!?!

I don't really see that happening, reason I say that, is that prices are up for all sorts of brands and not just Porsche. Just look at the prices of E30 M3's or Alfa GTV's for example. Those cars could be had for under $15k for a driver or $35k and under for a really nice near pristine or near pristine example a few years ago. Many really nice 930's sold for an average of $35k back in 08-10....the price of an average 88 Carrera today. Just look at Bring a Trailer dot com. Those are real buyers and sellers. The car I posted would easily surpass his asking price on the site. This is why I believe it's a scam...then again if it has hidden mechanical issues or bad accident repair..that can explain his ask.

I bought my 1st in 2010 and gave less for an original paint and interior car with 59k miles and it is a US car.

The car in question in not a garage queen, looks like a pimpmobile from Miami vice and I doubt the miles are correct. It's no deal if it has engine trouble.

Could be an optical thing but to me the engine compartment jambs look blue not brown.

It would be nice to get a California pelican to check it out and report back.

These cars are money pits if you can't do a lot of maintaince your self. Bodywork, if you can't do that, and most won't be done right if you think you can, is also expensive if done by a pro.

No doubt about that. If I was unable to do all the maintenance and repair work on my car, I would not be able to own it - very expensive to own & operate if they are actually used for transportation (like mine).

Sure but that's the case whether it's a $40K bargain or a $$$ concourse winner. Takes a lot to maintain either, the latter will probably see more professional hands.

The car in question does not need body or paint or interior work. Your high value concourse will need a professional paint job for every scratch.

I'm sorry but pimpmobile it is not. The interior may not be to everyone's taste but it was the 80's. If it truly is a special wishes car....imo it is worth a lot more than $43k.

Here is a thread from what I believe is the current owner http://rennlist.com/forums/911-turbo-930-forum/836707-my-new-special-wishes-83-930-slant-weird-interior-pieces.html

My thought is if it's truly a special wishes car then its under market by quite a bit. I read the listing and without the original paperwork from Canepa or the first owner you really can't prove it is real? What do you guys think?

So if that puts this in the driver category and without engine needs then I think for what you get it is still a decent deal. Pretty clean car that mirrors the early slant noses.

As Ronnie always said before he died ()"Butt" my and other opinions are like *, there are a bunch of folks who appreciate the Slants.

"Butt" - is there another way to spell it?!?! With a handle like "Gaspassin", I would think not, buttofcourse!!!

Butt regarding verification of that Slant - I don't know of a way to absolutely prove the "special wishes" status, butt if factory built, there would be several tells, such as a single motor headlight assembly, and an oil cooler in either the nose or the right rear quarter (were found in both places). Butt even if those were present, that does not guarantee a factory build, buttofcourse.

Come on... You guys will never learn! Yeah a special wishes 930 for $43,000.... Or ANY 930 for $43,000 you couldn't even buy a nice SC or 3.2 Carrera for that.

If the ad was real and not a scam this car would be bought by a broker and sold overseas.

SCAM

As for the market declining a 1979 930 was bid to $140,000 last week at mecum.

And the 930 in question is indeed a real special wishes car. The interior has a few one off features that would have been only possible through the special wishes program.

Don't you think that if it was a real car that Canepa would have bought it on the spot ?
