Should I sell this 1971 911S Targa project with or without the engine
1971 911S Targa
Looking for opinions. It looks like this project is going to be a bit much for me. As I said when I initially posted about my car last December it does not have a matching numbers engine. The engine is a 1966 901/05 motor with Webers. It does have the original transmission. A number of people have suggested I pull the engine out and sell the car and parts with the matching transmission without the engine. What do you folks think? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I would sell the engine separate. I know of a guy who might have a 71 S engine if you are interested. Very reputible member here.

'66 engine sold separately gets you the most value.

I also agree, sell the engine separately.

Sell the motor and the chassis separate. There is no sense in selling them together.
I like the chassis though. How are the floors, rockers, and rear torsion? Why is it too much for you to do? Is it rust? |

Thanks for the input. Seems to be pretty unanimous to sell without the non matching engine. The floors, rocker, rear torsion area are very good. I'll try to post more photos this weekend. I am heading out of town today.

I would be interested in the car without the engine.
Pm me if you get to that.
