The VIN listed in the ad ("WP0ZZZ...") indicates it's a ROW car.

I agree that the USA bumper overriders and lack of sidemarker lights argue otherwise.

Cheers

d.

He's probably using the stamped vin in the frunk instead of the real vin in the door jamb or windshield frame.

My 85 has the ZZZ in the bonnet but not elsewhere -- Porsche sometimes wasn't sure if a body was going ROW or US/Canada so they'd stamp body in bonnet area with ZZZ and then elsewhere with the North american specific numbers once the car was built -- I bet this seller's looking at the wrong VIN and has a US car

The first number is the chassis number. Only once they determined the market did they assign a vin. A subtle distinction but they are not both vins.

More than likely.

From his advert: "WP0ZZZ91ZFS1450171, and engine #63F00601"

ZFS: ROW (CES:US/CDN)

Engine #63F00001-on: Type 930/20 --> RoW (Engine #64F00001-on: Type 930/21 --> US/CDN/Japan)

I had an 85 RoW cab as my first Porsche. Like this one, it did not have the side repeaters and had US bumpers. Motor and tranny were definitely RoW.
