I made it official: techweenie.com

Because I've helped a few people find, buy and sell Porsches, I thought I should answer the usual 20 questions in one place.

techweenie.com

All criticism welcomed.... (flame suit on)

No flaming from this corner but only the highest regards for his knowledge, support and ethics. In case some of you remember the original "Automotion" catalogs of the 70s and 80s, Bill is the "builder" of these. Some of us still use them for research and finding correct parts and matching the pictures with parts - wish the prices were still correct!

Quick glance and it looks good. I will navigate it all later at a desk. Good luck Bill.

Reminds me. I need your opinion on the value of a specific car.

I miss the Automation catalog too. My office in Sunnyvale was in walking distance of the old store front....spent hours in there picking up parts and upgrades. Good luck.

Unique and great idea

Bill,

I have been reading most of your advice for a long time. I am passionate about these cars and do a lot of work myself but its hard to gather a lifetime of experience in an area that is after all a hobby to most of us.

I have some questions and will contact you through the website. Good luck and thanks for sharing your experience on this forum.

Mark

I am always amazed at how this internet works, great source of information at your finger tips, no more traveling to the library and going through the card catalog or trying to call around for help.
I think your site will be a real positive to the marvel of the internet.
Great looking site, and you seem to have a clue with your information which is a nice bonus.

Thanks. I do intend to publish a lot of info I've shared here in the Technical section and basically provide a reference library. Wayne has some really great stuff here that I'll be linking to.

The site you see was based on a URL purchased Sunday and about 5 hours' work on Monday... It will grow.

I also will add a lot of stuff from the old Automotion catalog which I still have as electronic files going back to mid-80s. Sadly, only the name lives on.

The site you see was based on a URL purchased Sunday and about 5 hours' work on Monday... It will grow.

Some of my resources...

You should add a section with old tales and anecdotes from the days with Jobs and Gates etc.

Was the domain name available, or did you have to pay a squatter?

A guy had had it "on ice" for 11 years. As it was his nickname, I'd hardly call him a squatter. But we negotiated a fair price... now his daughter is going to Disney World. win/win.
