Pricing help

Hey fellas, i'm curious what you think my hotrod is worth. To me its worth ALOT just because I love it soo much. But another beauty has caught my eye. I've found my self daydreaming about what If I could sell her and buy this new 911 hotrod for I see for sale. I also if I dont sell here I think I should be increasing my insurance value as its based on a Appraisal thats 5 years old.

My car is a 1975 911 Carrera, with 3.3 turbo. 915 trans. Mileage is unknown since the speedo was replaced long ago by a previous owner. Overall the car is in very good shape and i'd consider it almost rust free. I've been under her many times and there is no rust in any of the typical areas. Its never seen snow as far as I know and rarely driven in rain. It had a complete strip down and repaint about 18 years ago and was well done. Its a light weight hotrod with no heat, or AC, recaro pole position seats and Schroth harnesses. So its not exactly what some people consider comfortable.

I see clean stock SC coupe's listed for $30 to $50k and a 930 motor is another $15k or more. So I figure my car is probably worth around $50k USD as is for a clean non sunroof coupe with upgraded turbo motor. Am I for off?

No, you are not off. 74-75 Carreras have come into their own and price higher than SCs. The 3.3 turbo engine may even be worth more than your $15k number. I think $50k is a nice round starting point for an ask.

I agree 100% with Matt on this one. I would certainly think you would get at least 50K on your car. I have seen some of these priced far higher in the UK.

Yeah I think you'll get more interest if you lose the wing and the scrotch, put civilian seats and swap the wheels for fuchs

See there PUDe (aka - he who created my screen name ! ),these guys are reflecting the concept that I'm always talking about; many aircooled owners secretly wish that their 911s were Honda Accords!

$30-40K depending on the condition of the engine and the poor 915 (cue?)

Body kits are not the hottest items in the marketplace.

Haha thanks his Royal Rawness I'm not about to put weight back into the car via stock seats and Fuchs would look silly on my car with the colour and bumpers I have. Not going to happen. I've had many compliments on the car as is, some from guys driving much newer and much much more expensive Porsche turbos & GT3's etc. Maybe I should start asking these admirers for straight up trades and see where that lands me ? 😎

Why is this? (other than the fact that you and Rick each own one?)

I was about to respond to these guys with the same comment. I think Fuchs wouldn't look right on that body at all. If a buyer wants to restore the car to look like an IB let them deal with it. Sell the car just as it sits.

Why have RS Americas gone crazy? It makes no sense whatsoever when we are talking about US cars. The pricing of 74-75 Carreras and RSAs are stupid, IMO, which is why I gave up looking for a Carrera and bought a plain jane 74 911 normal and made it look like a Carrera sans tail.

Middies have gone way up the last two years. Middie Carreras have gone up even more.

It's Rennsport bro. Don't you know. I don't understand the market on those two cars either. As for the OP, I think $49,995 is good asking price. It's a pretty specialized car and is also in Canada which will turn off some buyers in the US. Looks like it would be a blast to drive. GLWS if you decide to put it on the market.

Back to the top, 2 years later, is this car still a $50k car, or more, or less? Got the itch to move it out, get something newer...
