Scraping the bottom of the barrel
What do you do when the market is going soft? Go low! Look for the full story in an upcoming issues of ESSES. It was a fun week, but I think we're gonna need a new poster. If anyone wants a copy of the soon to be old poster send me your name and address.

I'm sorry to say that someone killed and cut up your old 67 912 that I bought from Phil. I sold it believing they were going to restore it and instead they used it to restore an older 911, destroying a perfectly good car. I know some, myself included, have been critical of how you vet buyers, but maybe there's some value to that. I wouldn't have sold if I knew the end result of the deal.

As I've said in the past, and even though I love to poke fun at 912s and consider all machines as platforms for cutting and shaping in any fashion that an owner sees fit, what was done to that car is a cryin' shame.

I don't care if they cut up any car I sell as long as I cash out.
I paid a couple grand for that car and then harvested the 15 by5.5's (5) plus the 66 sport seats and wood wheel. No loss |

Guess you've changed. Thats too bad. You used to be one of us who had respect for the "soul" of these cars. I guess money does change people.

Well 912s are basically donors any more.
I like the cars but I can't control or dictate what people do with them once I sell them. You definitely keep cool parts for yourself too. I use to love these cars but the market is different than it used to be. Too many gypsies and wannabes that have ruined it. |

A donor I doubled my money on and bought a Boxster with the profits.

Hi John , My son Chase was to see you last year. He was impressed not by the cars, but by how much you do love the cars and know about the cars. .
Purist and profit are both acceptable. Have a great day. BVB |

The truck made it home in one piece, unloading is always the worst, and the sorting of the mountain of parts. But another one for the books. You can read the full story in an upcoming issue of ESSES, the magazine of the Early 911S Registry.
