At least Porsche was able to figure out something to do with the stash of engines they had left over from their ill-fated attempt to build riding mowers!

Picnic baskets I'm telling you. Keep the food warm too.

I heard that Phatt is planning to warm his Christmas ham, and the ham sammiches that follow, on that empty shelf in the cavernous, 912 engine compartment - nice!

The best 912?
Someone else's.

Hmmmm, on second thought (the second one this week!) I'm not so sure that is a 912-food-prep request; might be a euphemism for something else!

I love the swb details. My favorite is the '68 for more reasons I can list but I'll try: R seats or sport seats, talbot mirrors, ivory gauges, no flares (flares are cheesy), R steering wheel or other über cool period styles, squareweave or haargarn or perlon. The '68 has the most of the cool period correct choices. The short wheelbase is the purest looking and aesthetically superior in my opinion.

I think the swb tail happy characteristics make a car more fun to drive.

Supposedly there was one 912E Targa built. From a rarity standpoint...
I personally think it would be cool to make a 912R with fiberglass body panels, speedster seats, and a quad cam Fuhrmann four cylinder engine...
