Can some one help me with my post?

I currently have a car for sale here. It blows my mind that someone would buy a car for 25000 and need to put at least another 20000 to get within 75% of the level of restoration of my car. Can I get some feedback on my ad so that I know what direction to take.

I can't really say there is anything wrong with the ad itself. The car is just a bit of an oddity.

Pros: engine, suspension, transmission rebuild, nice paint.

Cons: 78 SC cut into a cabriolet, plus added slant, and added Turbo body so a bit of a mixed bag.
The lack of any type of top, or top mechanism.
The rigid cover behind the seats gives the body an odd profile.

The car itself may have been completed with top-notch work, but as they say "it is what it is" and a car like this is going to take time to find the right buyer since it is a hybrid of sorts. Good luck with the sale.

Put it on eBay or bring a trailer, you'll get a lot more exposure for the special buyer

I really want to help you with your ad as it looks like it was a labor of love, though it's not my cup of tea.

1) Remove all those photos. All the photos are distracting, in different places, out of focus, etc.
2) Re-take all the photographs in one locale. A parking lot would be better than any of yours. Out there in Long Island there are many places to take awesome car photos. Pick a locale and take them all there in the golden light of early morning or late afternoon.
3) Especially remove the photo with the car with no seats in it. This isn't doing you any good.
4) Don't say what the car doesn't have. It's sort of a Speedster conversion so highlight this.
5) Remove the tail. The tail is not good. Without the tail it will look much better.
6) I am not a fan of the wheels. Do you have other wheels? If not, keep them but remove the tail. It's sort of a Speedster/Turbo hybrid body package but it looks more like a Speedster (good thing) without that tail.

You definitely used the car as your artistic canvas, but seriously not one of those photos does anything for your ad or sale. You can seriously do much better.

The problem with the add is the photos.

The bigger problem is with the car. It's out of style in several ways. It's a slant conversion, it's convertible conversion, it's red and it's a Boss Sheeper. It checks four boxes of dislikes for people. So basically there is at least one thing everyone dislikes about the car. The price is very good. But someone will need to spend money putting it to their tastes. Ant then there is the convertible conversion. I have said it elsewhere. That is the biggest resale killer there is. And finding someone that wants to undo that is tough. You are looking at loosing more money than you expected. Like someone else said. Put it on BAT with a $20k reserve and let it go. Or wait for slants to come back in style.

I doubt BAT would list this car and if they did it would be no reserve so ebay is probably a better fit.

Although I'd say red is the last of the problems. For 99% of buyers that bodywork is a huge minus, and for the rare sheeper lover, you're competing with a lot of cheaper cars.

But, why remove the tail?
It's a slantnose, and they have tails.

Why did the seller decide to sell after enduring & funding a 3 year restoration that was destined to lose money? I thought you do something like this for the long haul, I ain't ever selling, so resale be damned.

Yep. I own one of those types of builds. I have 4 times the value of the car wrapped up in it. So it' s keeper. On the plus side it's a blast to drive.

And yep, Deez, I reaaaallllllly love builds like this - hardy har har! Each to their own, but I do not, and will never, understand the appeal of building a flash body and decking it out with anything less than a 300hp engine - totally backwards right thar!

That's not a bad looking car the way it is. You could swap out the 930s slant fenders for 930 fenders, remove the tail and create a quasi "roadster" look..

Thanks for all the expert advise...First I don't know what a boss sheeper is and honestly it sounds kind of offensive to me. Would love for someone to explain that but please face to face and not over the forums. This car was my first porsche and I went into it blind. I have since learned my lesson and have built 3 other cars with no where near the money I have in this one. Matter of fact I think I may just turn it into a speedster as it seems the speedster windshield frame is available in germany at least that's the word from my local dealer as of today. And if that's true I will take the car off the market.

Just be aware there is an array of other parts you'll need. Speedster frame, windshield, one piece door glass, modified doors, clamshell cover and Speedster top... likely $25K worth of stuff

I like the car, the problem with your ad are the pictures. Pictures sell cars, you need at least 20 professional pictures to sell that car. Hire a photographer and get her sold. It will take several months with lots of internet ads in the usual places to attract your buyer. Patience!

I don't agree that you need to hire a professional photographer, but you do definitely need better pictures. Good light, good location and at the very minimum a good modern cell phone (iphone 7 or samsung s6 at least) but ideally an SLR. Get 8 pics exterior pics (every 45 degrees around) and at least 4 interior pics showing everything as clearly as possible. Trunk and engine too. Look at other pics of similar cars and see what angles show the car best. But definitely take new pics. Online, pics are everything before the PPI stage.

I agree boys was a little lazy about the photos. The car is stored for the winter and I decided to use the photos that i had on hand. I'm waiting to hear back from Porsche of America they said they have 23 speedster frames available so Ive placed the order already. I bought the body shop that painted the car last year so to media blast she will go and a nice silver speedster will roll out of here next summer.
