1975 911

Hello all, I have a good customer who I am selling his old 911 for him, 1975 vin9115200205 90k orig miles
I cannot find the vin on any decoders on line. It is a 2 owner, (he has owned it for last 40 yrs or so) I work at a Porsche Dealership and the car was just brought out of his warehouse, he spent $4200 last month at our shop to bring it to driving condition, I drove it yesterday at 70mph for 20 minutes, drives excellent but needs alignment etc. no puff of white smoke when starting, due to his age he really has a hard time getting in and out . I have helped many of my older Porsche owners sell their cars. so, any idea per vin would be helpful! orig. black it appears, Charles madison 815.262.5665
cmadison@napleton.com I will have some pictures soon..very nice car with a very ugly spoiler

I believe that for any pre 1981 Porsche, you have to get the COA. You can order one from PCNA for about $118 bucks. But it does take about 6 weeks to get it in mail.

Otherwise, your best choice is to look at the door tag for the paint number code, and see if the engine number and the transmission number are correct for the 1975. However even if their are, it still will not confirm it being matching to this particular vehicle.

PS, any Porsche with the 17 number vin (1981 and later) you can obtain the build sheet through Sun Coast Porche Parts via email for $10 bucks. It might not be fully complete, but better than nothing.

Good luck with the sale

Low $17k, High $37k.

Pictures will narrow that range...especially underbody pics at usual rust locations.

For top dollar: no rust now or ever, documented engine rebuild, no dash cracks, original seats/steering wheel/radio, five figure repaint or good original paint, no spoilers, 15x6 Fuchs or cookies.

That's really good advice - straight to the point.

No rust in the pan is the top concern. I want to get a 74 or 75 to build a pre smog hotrod. The one thing I won't do is put a pan on a car. I'll pay an extra $5-10k to not have to deal with that. I've done one pan on a Mustang and it's a lot of work to make it perfect.
Get it on a lift and take pictures of the pan. You will get a lot more buyers if they can see the pan front to back in the sales ad. If you have heavy rust $20k tops.

Later mirrors and wing added. Bright trim and handles painted black. Looks like a nice car. Thought you said it was orig black paint. It looks silver? What color interior? What is the engine number / type? (type number 911/44) etc. The VIN is a US 49 state 911s (Base model this year)

Can you show a picture of the bottom of the engine?

What is the paint color code inside the drivers door jamb?

If everyone demands a rebuilt motor then the price is going to include it.
