IIRC 1014 993RSs were built, a mix of touring (M002) and Clubsport (M003). All ran the M64/20 3.8L motor. Differences btwn the 2 RS models were primarily aero bits, gearing and a cage / stripped interior in the CS.

Yep...1993 was a whole different ballgame for Porsche. Sales were very low that year...the 968 sold 1/4 the number of units they were expecting. They were desperate to increase sales...Porsche was losing money so fast that many predicted merger or bankruptcy. Then they bet the farm on the Boxster/996 and morphed into a higher priced BMW.

Porsche made 14,000 cars in 1993! 225,000 in 2016. And lines still form for the "less for more $" editions.
