911 flairs

I am the 3rd owner of an 82 sc . Found a sticker on the glove box door from jack fallucca's paint and body 1985. They must have done the flairs and paint. The work was absolutely amazing. My question is does this take away or add value to this car.

Most would probably say deduct for anything that is not original. SC's don't seem to be penalized as much for mods. I take it Turbo flares added front and back? Any pictures? Are they glass or steel? Are they butt or lap welded? Not all flares are created equal. How many miles on the car?

Is it for flip? or your personal ride. If the latter, do what you want. Turbo flares rule and can give you a lot of amazing wheel and tire options.

Anything that is not factory will lower the value of the car.

Now for the exceptions:

Every now and then a really well done hot rod brings close to the money that was spent on it.

911 race cars with provenance bring serious money.

It's flares, not flairs.

Are they metal (better) or fiberglass (worse)?

Are they 930 turbo flares, or????

Usually lowers the value. If you can find the right buyer, it might not be a big hit.

So, what's up????... in your other post, "motor swap", you say you have an '83 SC, not an '82 SC. Troll?

It could be flair...never know. Seens lots of bad things done to 911s.

Fifteen pieces of flair is the minimum, okay? Now, you know it's up to you whether or not you want to just do the bare minimum. Or... well, like Brian, for example, has thirty seven pieces of flair, okay. And a terrific smile.

Post Pictures of the Right Stance
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/483086-post-pictures-right-stance.html

Just say'n.

The engine is out in that photo?

Wheel flare size is valued at what ever the owner and or purchaser wants - in my opinion.

Many threads of people putting on, and taking off flares.

Been conventional wisdom lately to keep all original parts removed from car, such as trim, seats and even wheels.

I just tossed my old A/C hoses and rear seat insulation pad because those would never be put back on as there are better or more lightweight modern options now.

From the photos the car looks nice and well done. It even has a periscope 3rd brake light. I'm not sure what the front bumper looks like. I don't see the rubber lower lip on the chin...that's the only thing that looks off to me.

I'd take this and turn it into a RSR replica!!!

As far as the value, unless it is a pristine all original example, tasteful - well done upgrades like usually will increase value, not lower it..

As far as the front bumper, it looks like a 1 piece fiberglass unit which explains the lack of a lower rubber lip..

and nice thread revival after almost 4 years.. lol..

Much of the work was performed by Air Cooled Garage of Lake Forrest, California, and total cost for the project, which was recently completed, is said to have exceeded $250k.
Nice car that a lot of money was put into, but really?

no, it was the OP just dropping photos of a car he posted about a few years ago with no further explanation. I have to assumed this was moved over to the MPF from the tech section.

that car in the add is hardly an SC any longer.
