Market for a "911R project"
Serious post. Looking for opinions. I have a pile of parts once intended as a 911 R project. Have had them for a very long time. I'm thinking I am never going to get around to tackling this particular project and I'd like to have the space freed up in my shop. Daughter in college too, so i don't want to give it away.
'67 912 rolling shell (with title). Just a tub, everything else gone. Not much rust. Someone put a new floor in it before I got it. Have doors and aluminum lwb window frames. Have most major parts needed to put together a 911 motor. 66mm crank/rods. 7R case. Webers/manifolds. Fan/housing. Cam towers. Sheet metal. Mount bar. 2 liter flywheel. No P/C's (have 84 mm barrels to bore). No cams. 2.2 or 2.7 heads. Have oil tank, 901 with AFMSX, and set of 6 x 7 x 15 fuchs. Thats about it. Most of this has been gathering dust for 20 years. Always planned to buy fiberglass, roll cage, fuel cell, seats, and brakes for a low-buck 911R style track rat. But I'm not that young anymore, and I have 4 other ongoing projects. Is this sale-able as a project? What is a reasonable price (ballpark) in today's gold-plated Porsche market? Or better to sell off the parts? Thanks, DG |

I think the gold leaf is flaking a bit
but you have a 912 roller has be worth a bit with a 911 motor and trans in parts also worth a bit esp the webers sure the parts may retail for a somewhat large total each but may take forever to sell all of it I would try to sell the car and motor as a package or car as a roller then the motor+trans+bits as a package ps bet you get a few offers esp on the webers Last edited by nota; 02-22-2017 at 01:43 PM.. |

Thank you Nota. I think you are right about the gold starting to flake a bit. I'm glad. It was all a lot more fun when they were just old cars. I'll take a few pics and toss it out on the "for sale" section.
