car 79sc value

Looking at 79 sc coupe with 46,000 original miles, Blk & tan. I've been out of Porsches for 25 years.
Car appears to be all original and in excellent condition with all updates. 40K sound fair?
Not sure if the 911 sc market is cooling off.

46,000 miles is REALLY low. $40K sounds fair, but, you need to have someone who knows SC's go through the car thoroughly. With that kind of mileage, if it's accurate, the car was rarely driven. That means it sat and sitting isn't good for these or any cars.

A full PPI including checking for head studs is warranted. I'd be very interested in seeing this car, underneath and everywhere. Watch for leaks. Sounds like a cool find.

that price sounds fair. I do think the market is cooling and you may get that first number to a 3 but I also personally would rather pay a few extra $ for the car I want that will be worth the asking price down the road anyways.

Also - I bought a 50k mile 85 2 yeas ago that had zero 'sitting' issues because even though the mileage was low it was regular. Therefore all the fluids and tires etc were changed and rotated etc. In other words low mileage isn't always scary if it's not been out of service for an extended period

Don't thrust the odometer on any old 911. The speedometers take seconds to change, and the internal plastic odo gear will strip out with use. Verify low mileage with records and a visual wear inspection.

The SC market is insteresting.
Alot of tired,unloved cars or garage finds selling in the 20s.
Drivers in the 30s.

30-40k is where you want to be depending on mechanical condition of this car.

I picked up a sweet 79SC last year in the 20's. 35k Miles but hasnt been on the road in a long time.
Gona need to speed a few bucks to get her in top running condition.
