Prices Down At Amelia Island

Interesting article

Porsches also suffered, which is a significant change from their past recent domination on the auction block. Of all the generations of 911 models carried in the Hagerty Price Guide, 964s and 993s are the only variants that haven’t dropped in value over the past two years. "Based on the results witnessed this weekend, it seems these cars may not be as insulated as previously believed," Klinger said.

Does anybody out there know what the 964 turbos sold for at Hollywood Wheels auction. They had three on the website as going through the auction but it doesn't show the results (at least I can't find them)

What goes up eventually comes down, cars, houses etc.

Actually I thought the prices for the air cooled ones were pretty good overall. The water cooled Porsche prices suffered a different story. A one size fits all article. The Ferrari market was also spotty if looked at with the same thought process. Some decent Porsche and Ferrari bidding on the really rare ones. Did the writer not see the Black 1997 993 turbo S price realized? He claims 964 and 993 held up. The red 964 turbo did OK. Klinger, who dat???

I thought the water cools preformed at new highs...

2005 2005 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet | Amelia Island 2017 | RM Sotheby's $104,500.00
2011 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS | Amelia Island 2017 | RM Sotheby's $434,500.00
2011 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 | Amelia Island 2017 | RM Sotheby's $511,500.00
2011 2011 Porsche 911 Speedster | Amelia Island 2017 | RM Sotheby's $363,000.00
2016 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition | Amelia Island 2017 | RM Sotheby's $214,500.00

2011 2011 Porsche 997 GT2 RS | Gooding & Company $561,000.00
2011 2011 Porsche 997 GT3 RS 4.0 | Gooding & Company $748,000.00
2011 2011 Porsche 997 GT3 RS 3.8 | Gooding & Company $169,400.00

2011 Bonhams : 2011 Porsche 997 SPEEDSTERVIN. WP0CB2A92BS795608 $247,500.00

Do not have a complete list from Hollywood but it does seem that was a strong sale on air-cooled Carreras. This should make quite a few Pelicans happy.....

> 6. 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet sold for $94,500
> 7. 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa sold for $94,500
> 8. 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe sold for $83,160

Except for the 89 shooting the moon ($242,000) air-cooled Turbos did not fare well; many went unsold or were poorly sold (well bought)

Other exceptions
This 964 sold for $1.54 Million
http://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1993-porsche-964-turbo-s-leichtbau/

This 934 sold for 1.375 Million
http://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1977-porsche-9345/

That's often the case. Look up some of her past pieces, like the one on the Corvette C7 or the one where she rolls up to hottest hippest clubs in the meatpacking district in a maserati, or some **** like that. They'll make you throw up.

They used to have a real car guy writing about cars (Jason Harper), I miss his articles very badly.

Alcohol must of been flowing during this auction. Strong sale is an understatement.
