Why isn't this car moving?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/939124-1969-911e-targa.html
It seems like a nice car and in good shape. |

The motor, transmission, and the color is not correct to the car. Major minus!
Bubble in the paint at some areas (rust). The entire bottom and the trunk area are coated. People want original, plus coating usually hides stuff. (Rust mostly) The inside is butchered. Door pockets cut. Dash cracked. Ugly seats/covers. Aftermarket stuff added (speakers, radio, steering wheel) These old 911s are desirable and most people want them all number's matching and fully stock. Plus usually nicely restored because at this point, they have to be in order to run and look well.. Although there are some great unrestored jewels around, but those are rare. This car is a driver. That's it. And most people will rather go with something newer and more reliable, than a 48 year old butchered Targa. That said, I salute the seller for his full disclosure about the car and all the detailed photos. His $45k price is fair considering the circumstances, but unfortunately most buyers will rather go and buy something else with that price tag. I wish him the best of luck. |

How much is an MFI engine worth like that one worth, on its own?

Seller is known flipper type. Knock his $8k commission off the ask and we are close to real price on the car. Ironically my first 911, a 70T targa, was that same color until it was restored to original.
