You could report this thread and get it moved to OT, where it belongs.

I didn't read the link, but from the thread I'll go out on a limb and assume a politician is using a tragedy to get approval on a law his campaign sponsors wanted. So get ready for emissions testing. It will pass. You might want to start tracking down all the parts you need now.
Maybe you could get the carbon monoxide detection makers to lobby for installing detectors in cars as an alternative. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Like any decent person, I'm sorry for this family's loss but I gotta say that if they really want to make a positive difference they'd be lobbying for mandatory in-home carbon monoxide testing, as that's where the gas claims the vast majority its victims.
I suspect even they would acknowledge the silliness of that suggestion. _

I wish politicians were smart enough to only care about the tail pipe emissions. Here it's about being factory stock. There are countless cars that you could modify and make them run cleaner than stock form. I would install EFI on mine. But simply testing the tail pipe would be too easy. And eliminate countless union jobs. So the more complex the law the more employees paying union dues.
