Recommendations for 912e Service
Looking for a shop that has experience with servicing 912e in the Raleigh NC area... Appreciate any insight...

I would ask also any VW guys on other forums as well - most of the Type IV gurus are in VW shops. They know far more about these engines than most Porsche guys.

There's a place called Flat Six in Raleigh. Don't know much about them, but it's a start. Your car is 90% middie 911, it's really only the VW engine that's different, and it is mostly 914.

Regardless of where you decide to take your 912e, make sure that you insist that the shop install one of these while it's in there!

This is the problem with having a Porsche mechanic work on a 912e engine. He's confused the smog pump with a turbo...

With a turbo it should bring down the 0-60 time to at least 16 seconds.

As long as there's a minimum, 65mph tailwind, correct?!?! Good idea, Monsoooon; run the smog pump possitive pressure hose into the engine intake and boom - .5 of a horsepower bump (a 39% increase, in other words)! |
