912 Flipping

This 912 was for sale locally for $29,000 obo now it's moved 3 hours down the road and asking $39,000. Kinda feel bad for the original guy selling it if he sees it relisted-he was an older gentleman and did the resto himself. It states "excellent"repaint- well it's a ok to good repaint- it was shot by the older gentleman in his barn. Has had some pretty major rust repair that's not mentioned. The 912 also had some running issues which were carb related- hope the flipper fixed those before trying to make a cool $10k.

The new seller also has two other 912's that have languished for sale for several years. He slowly adjusts the price on them but they never sell.

Ummmmm, yeah. That says it all. They never sell. Is it a flip if it never, ever will ever sell at a ridiculous $39K? I mean really, $29K I say is ALL the money for a car like that with that paint. You've got to be kidding. Obviously this guy really loves his 912s and feels like he's 'in the game' by buying and trying to sell. Guarantee it's one of those deals where he tells his wife 'I can make a quick $10K on this one...' and she believes him and lets him add another 912 to his collection. There is something less sinister going on here than meets the eye...

A 912's primary running issue is by design (aka - a troubling lack of "forward movement beyond walking speed" ability)!

No reason to pound on a seller for having high prices, if they are really high, the market is much louder than anyone here. You can argue with people, you can't argue with the market. It's like beating a wall with your fists telling the wall it isn't hard, the wall doesn't care what you think.
