eeeewww, who would want THAT? 15k buys you a 3 year old GTI too, those are fun too but neither is an air cooled 911.

15k for the above car seems about right. Put in a 3.6 offered by the seller, spend another 20k to build engine and trans and get it up to spec and make it a DE car. you'd be in it for 35k which seems reasonable for a non-matching G50 car.

10-15K is Turbo 944 territory. Likewise, it buys a very complete, nice running, driving, and fast used Mercedes Benz.
Have you priced rebuilding a 3.2 recently? How about a G50? If you need an engine and a gearbox done at the same time on a Carrera you will spend $25-30k. Why should a car that costs that much to maintain properly be selling for $10-15K? You've got it backwards. The price of these cars was well below the cost of ownership for a really long time, decades even. They've just finally caught up.

You know this is a really tempting car , but I feel as though seller is trying to part the car and make up lost income on the very parting of the vehicle by selling for what amounts to a complete car price ?
I mean I've even spoken to the guy once or twice and he still acts as though since he took all these parts off the car it should still command the same funds L
What I'm gonna buy a parts car without the parts for what amounts to the same price as a complete parts car ?
I was born yesterday but not last night , I'm not gonna pay hood money to then have to find an
engine, a G50 trans and lights , bumpers, seats, calipers etc , just not gonna happen!
Tell me when it sells and I'll let the guy know I have a bridge for sale in Arizona..
Sorry for the rant but some of these prices are ridiculous! Bert

Wish I was starting a project as this would be a great foundation...... worth between $10K & $15K as it sits.
