If you want to keep them forever that's cool, but if you want to sell them sell them soon. good thing is sounds like you have ''new old stock'' so they're still new in boxes I assume. Fuchs will be delivery new stock to Porsche around late summer. this is direct from Fuchs when I had a chance to meet & ask them during one of the recent trade show. so they will be available from Porsche again soon.

Florio. That story has been going around for atleast 5 yrs. I talked to Porsche myself too about 5 yrs ago and heard same story but nothing yet. They are not in production and can't seem to get quality approved yet. Yes in boxes.

Suncoast had them in stock about a year ago. Not available new for a while now, but certainly not 5 years unavailable.

A pro-date would be useful.

I have some NOS 904 mainshafts. They are in Porsche boxes under original part number. But the pro date is 1990. The 901 family of gearboxes stopped in 1971. Not actually nos.

We'll see. the word came from Fuchs personal not Porsche. I'm waiting myself so hopefully Fuchs was telling the truth.

Of course. Porsche has not approved quality so unless Fuch is making them without approval I call Fuch sales rep bull****.

So you are saying Fuchs makes crap unless it has a Porsche P in a triagangle? You only drive on N rated tires, I assume?

That's not what I said. I just said Porsche has as of last week had not approved quality to Porsche standards in order to start manufacturing and then purchasing. Fuch can do what they want I guess but I think that's not the best mistake to look back on.

Any idea what Nos dated 5/86 worth?

If original factory anondized, the 8's are worth $1,800-$2,000 and the 9's are worth $2,200.

They won't sell fast at that level, but will eventually sell. Difference between fresh Weidman wheels and NOS is de minimus.

As for the date stamps, the 5/86 date is better than no date stamp, but otherwise worth basically nothing.

I would put them at half that price. At least a couple times a year these come up. Factory original, never mounted and all...

I would put the set at $5-6k. They aren't early enough to be really valuable. By 86 production volume on them was massive by Porsche standards.

Are the 8" wheels the 951 rears that are used as fronts on the 911? I have this setup, the 951 8" wheels up front, and 9" in the rear. It was the "hot" setup years ago before 17" wheels came along. Virtually no decent DOT tires left for them.
