73.5 Looking for value - possible sale
Hello folks -
I fixed my clutch cable so i was finally able to get the car back on the road and took some pictures. Situation: Not in a position where I need to sell the car, but if the price is right I would strongly consider it. I have had the car for 7 years now and since then I have had some pretty minor work done to replace some of the fuel lines, new tires, new gas pedal, new batteries and a minor tune along with the new clutch cable. I have the ppwk from the prior owner on the various things she had had performed on the car during her ownership but prior to that- i have no records. Known: 1973.5 911T
I am looking to get an idea as to what the market value of the car is. I had started a thread after I had seen a huge jump in values per the Hagerty valuation tool. I'm not sure how close or not mine is to a condition 4 - I will try to answer any questions you have or take more pics of anything else that would help with some #'s. Thanks in advance The far shot: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not the prettiest of engine bays - but she runs well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by bowenx; 09-22-2014 at 11:30 AM.. There is a lot of value in that car. Assuming the engine is matching, I'd pay $32-33K without knowing any more about it.

No mention of rust situation? I guess that doesn't matter on those cars.

The owner never mentioned the car ever being chocolate brown, but there sure is a lot of brown stuff popping up under that pretty white glaze
![]() Will love to see what tech will make of it after he buys it. Hope he will paint it Conda or Viper. Last edited by christiandk; 09-23-2014 at 10:28 AM.. |

Viper
Viper green, wow - those were the good old days (add $5k for Viper).
Even with the somewhat gruf panel fit, I'd say techweenie is spot on. What luck to find Viper underneath white! |

Wow, another 1973.5T survivor..............
No doubt your car will sell for a much higher price if it were put it back into original condition. That is, interior components and exterior. But the question is, do you want to put the $$$$$ into it and hope you get a decent yield? I would say that Techweenie's estimate may be correct here for this car. I figure it would take about 15K - 20K to get it back to original condition including paint! Many of the existing components like seats, exterior mirrors, etc, can be sold for a decent price. The BIG question is - do you want to take the time and $$$$$$ (and risk) of undertaking this correction or just sell as it is? As she stands if you stay firm on what Tech recommends (30K range) you will sell the car. Stick with your price!!!!!!! Take a look at a prime 1972T coupe on the FOR SALE page. The one that's Sepia Brown. His price is firm at 80K! Granted its perfect, but when you consider 30K versus 80K that's a 50K range. That's why the consideration for investing some cash into it to get more might be a good option. A total restoration can be as high as 100K. Good Luck................. Bob 1973.5T Sepia Brown ![]() |

That being said - I am not in a position to spend the amount of money it would require to up-level the car anytime soon. So for now - she will have to stay as is. And thanks for the input folks - this is the kind of information/comments I was hoping for. |

And.....asking again.
Ok - about 2 1/2 years later not much has changed.
The car still runs great and i still love it but i'm thinking more and more that it might be time to turn her over to a new owner that will be able to dress her up and take her out more often. The market as per hagerty doesn't seem to have gone up so much - but i've also not seen too many of the 73.5 on the market either. Oddly enough - the hagerty site doesn't seem to offer the selection of the coupe and 73.5 (they list the cab w/fi or the coupe with carb). What say you? I had received some great feedback last time i reached out and several private messages asking several questions. Thank you. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'd be happy to take / share more pics of whatever is needed to help with valuation estimates. |

Are all the issues you listed in 2014 still there or has much been fixed at all? I could be interested as I'm after a potential project but needs to be at least roadworthy first. Let me know, save putting it out to the vultures on BaT and it would go to a good European home where it would be well cared for.

All isssues are still there...and the exhaust has a leak/hole near the outlet. Still starts and runs well. I have driven it to work a few times in the past two weeks.
