Lost value and advice
So this morning on my morning drive a kid rolled into my car at a stop light. There's a minor dent in the hood and a few scratches on the bumper. The problem is that under the hood he created a slight dent in the main part of the car (unibody I'm guessing?). Obviously I have a few choices. Id appreciate advice and any lost value impacts when I report to the insurance. Pics attached.

Sorry to hear!
My opinion, this is minor damage. So long as you document the damage, have it repaired properly and attach the repair invoice, I wouldn't hold it against you come sale time. Reality is these cars are 30+years old. Most of them have a story or two. I much prefer transparency to an unexplainable paint guage measurement. |

Is that orange peel on the top of that bumper ? My eye is telling me that that bumper has already been repainted once.
The most important thing you can do now is make sure that your car has top quality repairs done to it, by a well regarded shop. |

Thanks for the advice. Selling really isn't the plan but you work hard for something and you don't want to see it lose value. Plus you never know what happens in life.

What do you mean by lost value? It's the very definition of a fender bender, very minor and fixable.

Consider it an opportunity to do a nicer paint job on that bumper.

A properly written estimate to properly repair your car would be approx $4000-$5000. Reflector is almost $800 if it's damaged. I would say from a legal perspective you could argue $1500 minimally in diminished value. Yes I agree bumper has definitely been painted and not because it has orange peel because all porsche's come from the factory with orange peel but because the it was sprayed very dry and has way too much orange peel.

The reflector is 800, but I took it to a pretty reputable place, they need to repaint and repair the decklid, pull out and repair the dent in the metal surrounding the engine and under the decklid, and repaint the bumper.
The first estimate is for 1800. I plan on taking it down to parkhaus this week.
