To my knowledge, a 901/05 is a factory replacement transmission with AFMSX gearing, akin to a 901/02. Conversely, I've also heard this is a rallye geared trans. Who knows? None of my transmission charts have /05 listed.

Rare?
Oh boy. Tons of money.

But what would you list it for realistically.
I have no use.

It a 1968 911l gearbox. It replaced the 902/1. If one was ordering a car you could order it to suit but most of them were just dealer spec'd as afmsx. No, it's not in the spec books.

Is there a way to tell if it has LSD?
If so, what is it worth then?

Spin a flange. If the one on the other side spins the same direction it is LSD. If it spins opposite it is open. LSD with flanges is worth $3-4k by itself. So it's a $5000 gearbox with LSD.

Yeah, pretty rare. In '68 it was mostly the 902/05 and 901/5x series boxes that got an lsd.
