opinions on this 74 carrera

I'm 57 YO and have been considering moving down to 1 pcar, but want to keep it an open top. i'm leaning towards selling the 930 and 88 cab, and moving into a targa. I have primarily looking at 491 TL targas. i saw this 74 carrera targa and it is the same color as my 88 cab which i like, and it appears to be in good shape.

What is your opinion on this 74? it says low miles and not restored. At first pass looking at some key thing? 1 it appears to may have been repainted, 2.) has a fresh interior 3.) a front spoiler may have been added (think on a the 74s which had a duck tail did not have a front spoiler?), 4.) doesn't have the fog lights (hard to read the COA but think it is noted as an option on the COA?) 5.) does not have rear seat belts (was this an option in 74), 6.) are the outside mirrors supposed to be chrome and was the passenger side an option?

people tell me I should sell the 88 cab and keep the turbo, but i'm driving the turbo much less these days and i want to get something more "unique" than the cab. The CRX is my DD and the TR6 is the short trip good daily driver the dog like to ride in.

I noticed dash was covered in vinyl or leather. Fogs were optional, as well as spoiler. Does look a little too fresh for unrestored. Too bad it's a dealer as you may not exactly get an honest answer to any of your questions

Original wheels were one inch narrower front and rear unless maybe special ordered. Looks pretty clean for the small amout of pictures. I'm not that well versed in mid year Carreras. Some engine pics and underbody shots?

Here's another for comparison. I believe it is the Euro version with desirable MFI and would be a better buy if they are similar in price. https://gaudinporschelv.com/inventory/all/Porsche+911+Carrera+Las+Vegas+Nevada+1974+Black+62 6773

Okay, found rest of pics. Mirrors aren't original. Fairly presented engine compartment that looks original due to exhaust valve covers and, I believe, lack of chain tensioners. I couldn't tell if front calipers have been replaced with non-S version. Underbody is fairly clean but would bear closer inspection to see if a fender or quarter section was replaced. Missing a few tools.

Only 10K more for the copper colored one, but not a targa....

Just this week Excellence came out with their annual market issue. They put a 74 Carrera Targa at $40k-$90k. No way in hell does this car deserve to be anywhere near the top of the range.

Matt is that available online? Would like to see what it says about 74-75 carrera coupes and if it references 76-77 carrera 3.0's?

Thanks, that explains the price. Still a nice piece with the MFI vs CIS. Can't believe either is at or near six figures....

I know of a couple good Carreras that traded at $80-90k over the last several months. Another really good one at six figures. I turned down a near-$100k offer for mine. I agree. Big $$ for what is mostly a cosmetic package.

Where does it say it has MFI? I re-read it several times. Should just be CIS

My bad, it's been awhile since I looked at their site and they have two copper 74 Carreras. This is link to the other with MFI and strato-price.

I misspoke early. After looking at it again, it only has US models.

an extra $5k (45) on the bottom and no delta at the top from a targa.

74's are worth much more than the 75's. I sometimes think 75 Carreras get almost zero premium. People pay for the ducktail.

I don't think either warrants the premium they bring. I do think they are a bit more then a trim package but without the mfi I would just rather build what I want out if a normal for less money.

I passed on a 76 C3 racecar a few years back and regret it today.

There's a very large contingency of people who prefer the whale tail to the duck tail or no tail at all. I haven't really perceived a price difference between 74 and 75
