Best wheel spec for turbo flares!?

Hey guys,

Looking for some reference photos of wheel fitment with turbo flares.

Specifically a 70's IROC style 911.

I know lots of people run the 16" with meaty tires but I am trying to minimize gap as much as possible. Yes, some love the original look of the IROC but personal preference I don't want the car to have that look of the smaller wheels.

Anyone put 17 or larger replica Fuchs on their car?

What are the specs, how wide in front and rear, what tire size are you running?

Ideally a nice set of chrome or black replica Fuchs or even some BBS style as long as they have a modern enough look.

If you are selling some also, let me know.

Pics and Video coming soon of me picking up the car.

If you're bored feel free to watch me pretend like I know what I'm doing
Youtube : Superish Mario

Thanks for looking.

Mar

Best wheel spec for turbo flares!?

Search in the Turbo forum. There have been a few threads about this with pictures.

I run 17" Fiske wheels. 17x11 & 17X9. I like the 16" look better but tires are non existent.

I think the 18" wheels are too large for these cars.

Cool thanks.

I agree I think I'll be going with 17's unless I find some deal I can't pass up.

I'll peep the turbo forums.

Any photos on car?

I saw a few 16" RS's and they look pretty decent but IDK about running 15"....

A shop I use is building a narrow trailing arm 73 911 with the RSR / turbo wide body. I put them on just to be sure and they fit perfectly front and back with no spacers. Might be a good set for your build. I don't recall where they came from or when I get them, just been sitting around my shop for many years. As I recall they are 8X16 fronts and 10X16 rears.

ANYONE selling 17" CCW wheels?

Let me know, 17x8 and 17x9 would be ideal I believe.

Thanks.

There's a guy selling Fikse 17X9 and 11 w/ Turbo offset in the parts for sale forum. These are the best sizes, IMO, and Fikse makes good wheels (I'm biased, I have 'em on my car).

930 flares. Running 17x9 and 17x11 Linea Corse wheels with standard suspension. Rears have 28mm spacers to allow the tires to clear the oil cooler lines and bits on the Elephant Racing spring plates.

Sheesh that does looks pretty flush... might mess around with Fuch like wheels if I can't find my first option.

For the record, I'm not a fan of the CCW's. They are cheap, I'll give you that...

Narrowing down search for FM10's or CCW Classics.

Thanks for the help.

If anyone has any sweet deep dish wheel set up's post them up!

Not the best pic of the wheels, but these are 17x9/11 Fikse FM10. I was falling over when I took this.

Sheeeesh okay baller!!

So you have the same exact set up as the ones being sold! Very nice.

Looks so good. I'm waiting on TurboDave to get back to me with details since he had to fix a few of the bolts. Getting anxious.

^ Those are not the right fitment for a torsion bar wide body car. "Porsche fitment," LOL. One size does not fit all!

Besides, do you want all those extra holes in your wheels? Why does CCW do that? A big reason why I don't like the CCWs, they always look like they were put together in somebody's basement.

Be careful what you wish for.

Had an IROC-ish ‘79 with a hot 3L, 7s and 8s x 15 with Pirelli P4000s. Not much contact patch for the power but very low unsprung weight. Extremely light on its feet, it would dance like a pro. The sidewall took the edge off the stiff bars perfectly. Probably the funnest sportscar I’ve owned.

Switched to Fiske FM5s 9/11 x 17. Added grip but ruined the handling.
