Hmmmmmm. This is going to be a bad investment for the seller. He will not get his money back here.

Not much info on the car from before the conversion.

Sunroof and aircondition........

Pretty nice car though.

60K if it doesnt have the original booklets, 70K if it has.

I have seen that car a few times at a few local events, it looks great in person.

I totally agree. The amount of money 1) Invested, and 2) Being bid is completely hilarious to me. Based on a '87 which is not that desirable - except to people who gotta have the G50. Must be the paint color.

I never understood the fakeydo, wannabe type cars appeal.
This is a stock 87 911 with a cosmetic redo to look like another 911 from the past and it is going for stupid money?

Like wearing a fake rolex.......

I must admit the builder/seller does have a bit invested in this car. I wonder what his breakeven number is......

Yes, I am sure he/she has a lot of money in it. but then again that reminds me of the ads that say "xx,xxx invested, will sacrifice for x,xxx, my loss your gain"
Those are more fun to buy.

Well... I may be able to shed some light on that. I have a long hood wearing RS disguise that I really enjoy. No its not the real RS that I could have bought out of Pano not so many years ago for $65k. Or the other real RS that my Son & I watched sell for $95k at B-J auctions a few years after that. But its what I like to look at, and drive.

Mine is pretty true to form with a 2.7 that redlines at 7200, 2150lbs, Stratton duck, steel bumpers & flares, Fuch fifteens, correct gauges, no radio, houndstooth etc. Just like what I want. Its loud & gives me just enough feedback to remind me that I am still alive.

This one listed here is yet another in a long list of BaT sales of "fakeydo" or "fake rolex" cars that has shown all of us that this set up has a following.

Why? Well, like me many did not get a RS before they got expensive. But I still wanted something like that. So I made it happen for me. Others just like the look of it. How can you deny that? The look is iconic. But for me it also has to work like one. So ~ high redline, light weight and early chassis is my bag. But I get a back-date, as some people want at least a little comfort with their RS style right?

Nevertheless its a proven formula. With great results. And that suits me fine. I would bet mine is six figures too!
