Fuchs Wheels...what will it bring?
|
The wheels are cool, but will only fit a few cars...and you gotta find tires....but how about the '74 Carrera on BAT? Seems like a cool car, and bidding is subdued so far.

That's looks to be a fun lil Hot Rod. CA smog exempt is a major plus. |
No idea as to value. The 15X9s are expensive. I do not know if they would fit an RS style Flare. If you have a series 1 Turbo Carrera they would be perfect.
I do think I saw them previously listed on Ebay for $15,000. As far as the 1974 BaT Carrera: I estimate it would take me at least $20,000 to $25,000 to return to factory correct; A/C $4000, OEM Duck $2500, 2.7 rebuild $15,000, Front Valiance $1500 and Misc while you are in there items. You might get $7500 to $10,000 for the 3.0L to offset the restoration costs. It looks like a nice motor. Should be bid up to $60,000 to $70,000 range unless some of the BaT pixie dust is sprinkled on the auction. |
Well since you can buy the 15 by 9's for $1475 and the 15 by 8's for $1075 from Porsche I hope no one is paying through that offer.

I had it wrong they were RSR wheels.......
Here is the ad...... $15,000 https://www.pca.org/classified-ad/325651 |
Suncoast wheels won't have the right date. Not a comp. $1500 on 8s and $2500 on 9s.
That Carrera won't go over $65k. |
$72,500. Well sold but a nice hotrod. Appears to be turnkey.
$5,000 for wheels IMO if you needed the dates these wheels were a steal. |
i think the wheels will total around $5500 when you include fees and shipping.
But I don't understand the importance of dated wheels. If you concours your car, judges don't remove wheels and check dates,.....and even though the dates for these wheels are '75, they still won't be the "original" wheels that came with whatever car the owner puts them on. |

I'm seriously considering putting a 911/83 engine case into the build for my 74. You and I know that it's not any different from any other 7R case but to the general public it says Carrera RS. Somehow that's worth more than the 73.5 CIS T case I was originally going to use. |
Multiple times I have had cohorts pursuing dates to complete RS restorations....... 1 sold for $600,000 in 2007, the other a lightweight is valued today at $1.3M +/- a bit. The cost of "Number correct" wheels to them was inconsequential in relationship to the value of the project. To the right project these wheels had greater than sun coast value.
Matt; My favorite a 2.7 911/83 MFI motor. I had the opportunity to purchase a complete motor for $21,000. Figured by time it was installed I would have been in for $50,000. Blew it. |
