Always interesting to see flips
I don't know why, but I find it interesting.

You gotta love it. "But I towed it somewhere and washed it for you I deserve $20k+ profit!"
This one was on CL in late November or early December for $28k. I distinctly remember those dotted cloth seats. Clown is asking $30k profit on his swing. |

It is fun to watch the cars flip back and forth.
Gent bought the yellow 73 3.2T off EarlyS and sold it on BaT last week. Changed its wheels and made I estimate $30,000. FS: Early 911 Hot Rod. $75,000 obo. No hurry to sell. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-porsche-911t-8/ |

The listing I saw was either on New Mexico or Colorado CL with washed out pics but definitely the same car. I almost contacted the seller the buy it but just can't talk myself in to owning red in any shade.

All he did was change the side script and rear script, remove that "FLY GIN" sticker from the left of the rear license plate and then flip it for $30k. So many suckers with money to blow in the world these days. |

It's got CO plates. I may have seen it on CL in the Springs.

I don't get it. Whatever. The way I see it, the guy made a smart, unemotional business decision. We all wish we bought more cars in 2011. |

There is this ethos that making a profit on the hobby is evil. Its a patently Pelican perspective and because of it I lurked here for about 3 years before i joined. And it is totally irrational. Techweenie is a matchmaker and a hero for liberating cars from the dust but Tarek is a devil flipper man. Its silly.

The biggest hate I see towards flippers are the ones that are perceived as sitting 24/7 on boards like this and swooping in and grabbing every good deal, only to quickly pass that car on to someone else on the same forum for a fat profit. The worst I ever saw of this was someone who bought a car off the forum, hadn't even paid for it, upped the price 50% and re-posted it and sold it from the original seller's house, using his pictures.
But most of us buy cars from people who don't want to deal with the public. Most of the cars I buy are from collections where the seller is private and wants to sell a few cars off, but doesn't want to invite the world in to see. The same guy also wants to sell car x and car y, but doesn't want to be bull-dogged into selling car a, b, and c. Many times I get the worst of what he has, which is fine with me. Keep the 4-cam's, sell me the B Coupes, profit is profit. ---Adam

is flip bad or is profit causing jealousy
real estate is a "hobby" of mine. if i see a deal, i buy and i will resell too. and what do you say about reselling a car in 3 weeks, is that flipping? and what if that re-sale was a loss. i bought a 964 from east coast for 55 or so i think early 2017. drove is 2 weeks decided it wasn't pretty enough for me. i like 964 and want a better example. so i sold the one i just bought on the 3rd week i owned it. i lost $6500. i just wanted it out of my cave. so is that flipping? if so, i flip very often and each time at a loss. the $6500 loss was the smallest loss i have had. i think flip or not doesnt matter. if the seller represent the car correctly and the buyer is willing to pay the agreed price. then all is well no? |

Flips piss off the masses on here due to everyone wanting to buy low and sell high on their 911's.
