Value on 1980 Weissach Coupe?

Nice honest one owner with 107k miles.
Normal wear, perfect dash, seat bolster wear.
Platinum With original 15" Fuchs. 2 panels repainted to a high level.
Don't need it, but good cars seam to be in high demand.
Any thoughts on a price?
Thanks!
Pics not wanting to upload off my phone...

I sold mine with a fresh engine, paint and leather for $25k back in 2012? Car had 87k on it. My guess is the car you are interested in, is worth at least $20k depending on location and condition. Or look for a SC in similar condition and add a few thousand.

$40k give or take. If the engine is healthy and no major needs.

It would be nice to be back in 2012 wouldn't it? I'm not being facetious. I really would like to be back in 2012.

Yeah, that's when I got my '75S with a rebuilt engine for $4900.

That was a smokin' deal, even 5-7 years ago. In 2011, I spent $6,700 for a 912E. Sold it for $14k in 2015.

I'd say closer to $40k for the OP car, assuming head studs and mechanicals check out. Buying from the original owner who took care of the car and knows the entire history of it has value IMO. Now if buying from a dealer who bought from the original owner, that's still good but it's not really the same.

Yes, and it was a Craigslist car no less. Guy was really nice to hold it for me - even then it had a lot of calls (mid 2012). BHCC was one of them. It was in the Pomona area and had sat since 1996.

There are so many cars in the $35K -/+ range nowadays I would tell anyone who wants a car to get the color they want and the interior they want. Be a little pickier and get something that has some paperwork and proof of work. In this range a lot of people are considering selling, and there is a disparity in the quality of the cars.

I tend to agree. To me a Weissach is a premium color SC. The issue is it is not a color I would pay a premium for. Some other guy will though. For $40k I’m getting the color I want.

I bought the car today! Even nicer than I thought.
4-5% leakdown
Oil change, belts, plugs since I was in there.
No smoke or leaks. Need serious detailing.
I remember this car in younger days. Multiple concourse
Plaques came with.

Haha. I agree Matt. I refer to the Weissach edition colors as the "white socks" edition...
