Does anyone know this car?

Have been getting some red flags on negotiations for this car in CA. Does anyone know it?

Thought I knew the car but realized the one that I was thinking was a targa with bright trim same color combo

If you are getting red flags you need to move onto a different car so you don't get burnt- always buy the seller holds true!

Seller lives in my hometown. I have met him before, gone to his house/shop. He seemed like a very honest man, and was honest and forthright in my dealings with him, however I would never recommend buying a car at that price point without physically laying hands/eyes on it. Just seems like you are asking for trouble, even if it's just due to miscommunication/misunderstanding.

OK...talked with the REAL OWNER...it was definitely a SCAM!
This scammer was masquerading as the seller to me, and masquerading as me (the buyer) to the seller. I was basically sending him my info and he corresponded as me to the seller and vice versa.

I'm the real owner I dont live in the shadows everyone in california knows me ....I thought I've seen it all .
this scammer posted my car with his number for 37k not 78k what it says in my add he deleted my phone number and put in his then when people would text him requesting specific things he would text me with the same request and I would give him whatever he wanted so I could sell the car ... any ideas how to avoid this in the future?

That seems like a well thought out scam. Maybe putting water marks on all photos with your phone number when selling might help prevent that. But these scammers seem to get better and better with their scams. As we have all posted here a million times do not buy a car sight unseen, or ask a fellow forum member to see the car if it is local to them most are always willing to help. This thread is a perfect example of trusting instincts and asking questions. He asked if anyone know the car and got an instant reply. Looks like DC saved Voda from making a terrible mistake. You owe him a six pack

Lots of redflags that I wanted to get to the bottom of. Was going to inspect the car before purchase, etc. NEVER had any intention or would have sent any type of deposit. Never.
PCA was great in notifying me that this was a scammer. I just wanted to get to the bottom of it and find the real owner and make contact to let him know what was going on. With the scammer out of the way, I'm still considering this car.
