Engine and transmission are worth 17k or so, not sure what you would do with the rest.

I really like going to BHCC. It's a warehouse full of project cars, and parts cars. They have Rolls Royces, Jaguars, Porsches, and more. Hundreds of cars, in all kinds of condition. Some running...some rusted....some wrecked...you name it.
People complain about this place as if BHCC is mopping on the bondo and rolling their cars across the block at Barrett-Jackson. They are not. They are all project cars, and you know that going in. If you're not in the market for a project, then don't go there. But the place truly is "auto archeology".

Wonder why it's a salvage title never even heard of the guy that owns it.

Cars get to BHCC because they cannot be easily disposed of locally. And/or the seller doesn't want his house to get firebombed after his buyer gets an independent assessment. This usually means a close up inspection will reveal a lot of issues the camera doesn't catch. BHCC relies on distant buyers using photos to guide them. I inspect a lot of cars there, and although their photography portfolio on each car is pretty decent, I still find 'surprises,' like the 993 that had something electronic 'ticking' inside the passenger door... or the flood car that had silt inside every orifice, including the door lock and water level lines inside each of the gauges. Also: they get a lot of nice cars in, but the on-site brokers for European buyers usually snatch them up before they can get photographed and listed.
