LOM I told you that you could have my 65 Outlaw with fresh trans rebuild and Skirmants built 1720 cc 912 engine for 47K. Certainly not a perfect car but I get to drive it to the grocery store and park it without worries. And it now has Durant mirrors. I threw the weird mirrors in the pictures away.

Pretty sure his Pops is looking for something a little more original, although I like your build.

And to MM and his engine rebuild theory on the blue BAT 356? I completely agree. Rebuild the motor before firing. Budget accordingly.

The outlaw looks nice, I would work on the stance myself, but if the car was for me...I might be in your driveway now with my check...especially if it was grey or black.

NYNick-erbocker - you are right - he wants more original "mature guy" stuff. LOL

ddm, I can easily appreciate how much fun your red 356 is. and minimal Porsche Paranoia when their purpose is that simple. you’ve also pointed out one of the few justifications for selling one;
- “I have another.”
- “I’m getting another.”

Drauz Yes I bought this one to fix multiple little things that were wrong then sell eventually. I have bumpers, original deck lid and 4.5 x15 wheels also so future owner can return to stock some day.

How about the "I'm getting too old to enjoy these toys." justification ?

Everyone gets there.

I’m confused.
I always thought it was “he who dies with the most toys wins”.
Are you telling me that as one gets older they are supposed to sell their toys?
Seems foolish.

'He who dies with the most toys' is a fun idea, but to get a little philosophical, I have found that unwanted or unneeded stuff becomes a burden in life.
It seems you start out life gathering stuff, tools, books, shelter, stuff.
Also you acquire debt .
And as a young man you want to prove to every body how smart you are, skilled, just all around great guy, you feel a need to prove your self.
But then some where in the 40's I would guess all this starts to change and you stop trying to show how smart you are, start getting rid of debt and also getting rid of stuff that clutters up life.
I like the 356 because it is so user friendly and just plain fun. Defiantly not clutter.

The richest man dies surrounded by friends and family who love him. I love my toys but I will sell them all or give them away to loved ones long before I leave this place. Can't take that stuff with me...

Toys turn into clutter. Clutter turns into a mess. Ever see those 'collectors' on American Pickers? Hoarders is what they are and they can't shake it.

I'm trying to get rid of stuff. As you get older, you start to realize that most of it doesn't mean squat and you can hardly give it away.

My kids don't want our stuff. Now what?

At least I’m not collecting crap. Porsche’s are all worth collecting in my opinion.
Better than wives kids and houses.

Funny. I spoke to Vic about that car weeks ago.
The price was better for him via BAT.
My dad had limited the search to “within driving distance of 2 hrs or less”.
That was a nice car for sure!

I may be posting my 65 SC Sunroof coupe for sale soon on BAT. All matching #s. Vic built the hot street engine, 1720 Shasta pistons, Hot Cam, head work etc for it about 20k miles, 20 years ago. It is one robust, strong runner. Happy that Vic got all the $$ for his C=Coupe.

Old school... put it on the Registry first, then eBay (w/ high reserve, natch), then finally play BaT, when nothing else works.
C’mon... the world can’t be filled w/ aged, lazy gin-soaked reactionaries, can it?
