help listing a 1988 Carrera 911 coupe

I'm letting go on my dreams of doing weekend DE (wife)!!! I have a 1988 Carrera coupe in black with 86,000 original miles, brand new tires, G50 original rebuilt trans with new ring an pinion and race syncros in all gears. it has many Rennline part, DAS roll bar, expired Sparco seat, 6 point harness, A/C delete euro door panels, Momo steering wheel, upper strut bar, Billy Boat exhaust, cat bypass, chipped, updated fuse panel, ignition kill switch and other odds and ends. it a strong puller and runs great. I have a small dent in the drivers side front fender but other wise for an 88 nice. I see prices all over the place on this what is she worth? I have all original part as well I'm thinking a solid 40k but have been told as much as 50K. Im ready to list it but have no idea how. I live in an area in VA that the market for Porsche's is really non existent. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

$40k give or take. If you turn it closer back to stock and just sell the extra parts you will get more for sure.

Has it had the top end done ? if not does it burn any oil, 70-90k miles is usually the time and of not then you are good.

WAG mid 40's with obvious track mods gone, probably do better if you have the Fuchs on the car.

I think the price range is spot-on. 40K if you want to sell to an enthusiast who wants/doesn't mind all the modifications, around 50K if you want to put all your stock stuff back on, get it detailed, address any deferred maintenance or little nits that a "factory-only" buyer would want addressed.

I recently did the same thing with a slightly track/DE-modified 968 - Left the modified suspension, aftermarket chip and swiss cheese airbox in it, put refinished factory wheels with new rubber back on it, cleaned it up (paintwork, new floormats, dyed the factory seats). Put it on Bring a Trailer. I estimate I made an extra 5k over the cost of sorting the car. Plus I sold all my aftermarket stuff for another couple grand.

I am thinking 38-42K due to the racer mods. Original with records would be mid 50’s but that ship has sailed.

Just read that you have the original parts. Another option would be to put it back to original condition. New interior, remove the cage, replace steering wheel, seats, exhaust etc...

This would bump your price up about 10% and make it marketable to a larger demographic. I think it just depends on how much work you want to put into is vs just wanting it (or your wife just wanting it) gone.

Option #3: Tell your wife... never mind, I’ll stop there. You’ve already thought of that.

Thanks Guys, I’ll try posting here for 40K but I don't have the time or interest to put it back to stock. Top end has not been done but does not burn oil or smoke in any way. I may try the Bring a Trailer thing too.

Get an estimate for dropping the car off to a shop, and giving them a pile of parts to make it back to stock. Should pay for itself.

Take it back to stock. Far more people are looking for an original car than a track car.

I am thinking 30K and you would be real lucky to get 40K.
Track car to most buyers say "thrashed" even little things like a tilted tachometer scares some people away.
If you want to get any where close to 40 you need to remove as much of the track stuff as possible.

An 88 with 86K for $30K? That car wouldn't last an hour in the classifieds. He doesn't say he beat it to death on the track, just that it has some track mods.

I'd say closer to $40. Revert it all to stock as they all say, and add 5-10k.
