FS - 2007 bmw r1200s
Hi folks - The R12S is up for sale. After waiting and lusting for one, I finally ended up flying to Ohio this past Memorial Day week, buying this one and enjoying one heckuva fabulous ride back to California.
I'd perused the forum for quite some time before buying this and am pretty well versed in 'boxersprecht' as a result. In my mid 50's I need to tend to more important issues involving family overseas and will be relocating there for a number of years - therefore, I must regretfully sell this beautiful machine. It had just a little over 4700 miles on it when I purchased it from an executive who owned no less than 6 bikes which saw little use: Black with ABS - heated grips and Ohlins sport suspension with wide wheel. Also, I added a Horning composite rear hugger to protect that beautiful Ohlins. After much research I decided on Max Stratton's ECU reprogramming to compliment the BMC air filter and Akrapovic full titanium exhaust system - preferring the correct, (albeit much more costly) approach for fuel and ignition control over an add-on fuel enrichment spoofer. It runs very, very strong indeed! The machine now has a little less than 9000 miles on it and I can assure you - those have been lovingly - not thrashingly, accumulated. Just installed Michelin Pilot Power Pures (190/50 rear) about 300 miles ago so they're just about new. Also, just yesterday the oil was changed for the 2nd time since I purchased it. Lubro Moly GT1 10-60 supersynthetic with a Mobil 1 high efficiency filter. Also, I ordered an MRA Variotouringscreen Windshield (the one with the 7 position adjustable spoiler) which hasn't yet arrived but will be shipped to the buyer. The only flaws on the bike are: When the Akrapovic was shipped the carbon muffler end cap sustained a minor crack on the right periphery. Evidently, these are available but I haven't attempted to source one. The rear wheel has some very slight (almost un-noticeable) blemishes which I somehow obtained during my trip cross coutry. I surmise it's road debris/pebble related. Again - very minor and easily remedied with a smidgen of BMW silver wheel touch-up paint - but in the interest of full disclosure. For those interested I can take any amount of additional photo's you'd like of a specific area or part. Just let me know. Has current California plates and registration now and, of course - the stock exhaust and all documentation from new including original purchase invoice, plastic spare key and owner's manual will be provided. No 'test rides' without a valid motorcycle endorsement and cash in my hand. (had an incident with a supposedly 30 year experienced cyclist who dropped my Multistrada last year - wont happen again) $12k firm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You may think it's worth 12k; but, I highly doubt that opinion will be shared by a potential buyer, even with the add-ons.

My set of gloss black wheels would look sick on that bike!! I just sold em....
Black is the best color no doubt! Candy cane is for metro sexuals and yellow is for pukes.

Candy cane is for metro sexuals? And yellow is for pukes? Haha. I haven't had to use an urban dictionary for a while. This will be fun. |

Just returned from overseas - I apologize to those of you who've PM'd me - I've decided to hold onto the bike. I don't need to sell and it's far too fun. I don't think I'll see one on every corner and it's ceratinly not as mainstream as Ducati have become. Thank you all for your responses and advice.
