I get all that, but it looks like in that post with the pics that what you did was renew the female ports. And in the "before" pictures I do not see any cracks.

What am I missing?

Just curious, but do you guys think welding will do harm to the ECU or any other electric gizmos?

I have to re-weld the bracket for the driver side torsion bar and it's not to far from the ECU.

1986 Carrera Cabrio wide body.

Removed all the AC junk and the radiator under the engine cover. Can now see most of the engine through the cover louvers....

WTB: Cabrio top

My 1986 Carrera could use a new top. All of the mechanicls are fine...but the cloth top and the headliner are raggy.

Color must be black or blue.

I had a '74 Carrera and had none of the issues...

I had a '74 Carrera and had none of the issues you mention. It had about 90K miles on it and it never ran hot.

Wish I would have kept it!

Color looks very dark and almost black at night but it's called Prussian Blue.
